Hi new folks: I’m a Curate in the Episcopal Diocese of Pittsburgh. Proudly serving in the Army Reserve. I generally just tweet about my life & random thoughts. Big on Pittsburgh, heritage, ecumenism, & loving your neighbor.
This diocesan chapel has no congregation. We knocked on 100 doors or so, bought ads, put up posters and a sign by the road all advertising a single service. 81 people showed up to celebrate the birth of our Lord at a midnight mass.
Very weird experience trying to repair this crucifix. Nailing Jesus to this cross was a weird experience until I stepped back and realized I’ve done it countless times before. Lord, have mercy on me a sinner.
1/ Really processing my afternoon. I went to the Gettysburg National Cemetary to visit graves and honor those who fought in one of America’s bloodiest battles. On my way out, I was completely surrounded by 50 or so armed white supremacists.
I think this was probably the single most regrettable element of the Reformation. If monasteries persisted, I think the spirituality of American Protestantism would look much different today.
This is pretty embarrassing, but I started smoking pipes when I was 16, then moved to vapes in college, and haven’t been able to quit since. I haven’t vaped in 2 days, and I really would appreciate prayers for strength and fortitude in continuing to quit.
I’m at Chaplain School and would appreciate your prayers as we finish up our final phase and capstone over the next couple of weeks. Thankful for all your love and support.

Friends, I’d ask that you hold me and my colleagues in prayer this week as we embark on taking the General Ordination Exam. Over the week, we will write six 1000 word papers on subjects that evaluate the breadth of our seminary education. Pray for us all.
3/ I was screamed at, liquids were poured on me, and my life was threatened - all because I wore a shirt with the words “BLACK LIVES MATTER.”
This video cuts out, but I left on my own accord escorted by DHS and NPS after they said my life was in jeopardy.
A HUGE thank you to the Bible and Book of Common Prayer Society who donated 100 prayer books and an altar book to use while at the 450th Civil Affairs Battalion (Airborne) and throughout my chaplaincy career.
The biggest crisis in the Western church is actually that our catechesis is probably the weakest in Christian history and it isn’t an easily remedied problem because the people who are catechizing others are not catechized themselves
It is right, and a good and joyful thing, always and every where to give thanks to you, Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. Happy
#Thanksgiving
Hi new folks: I’m a candidate for holy orders in the Episcopal Diocese of Pittsburgh. Proudly serving in the Reserve. I generally just tweet about my life & random thoughts. Big on Pittsburgh, heritage, ecumenism, & loving your neighbor.
It’s wild to me that 2 continents have major conflicts, it’s 70F in January, and the world seems to be throttling itself to destruction in nearly every possible way and yet there are Christians who are upset other Christians are praying together. Repent.

joined for ecumenical Vespers in St. Paul's outside the Walls tonight.
They gave a “commission” to pairings of Catholic prelates & Anglicans, both male & female.

2/ This video is onIy about 10 minutes long, but I only started filming after people started touching me, which was about 20 minutes into the altercation.
The Episcopal Church is the one true expression of the Catholic faith and all must recognize the universal power of Michael Curry. The 1979 BCP is infallible and use of the 1982 Hymnal is the only musical canon authorized. I don’t make the rules.
My sister told me that most men do not receive a gift of flowers until their funerals so she got me some for graduation. Thankful for the women that make me a better man.
Had a humble service with Communion from the reserved sacrament of my home parish. Seven paratroopers came and worshiped together. The Lord was praised and it was beautiful.
Unironically some of the best evangelists for the RCC right now. TEC should take notice at how they’ve flawlessly adapted their spirituality to music that resonates with a mostly Protestant cultural backdrop.
You ever just think about Jesus’s tiny little fingers? The way that God both created and inherited instincts to crave the touch of his mother? God, I love the incarnation.
I am thankful for the many people who have brought me to this point. My faith in Jesus Christ & call in His church was fostered by many people, across many churches over my whole life. You will be in my heart & mind as I accept this call to service. All are welcome to attend.
Been absolutely tearing apart the internet looking for pieces for an altar set for future field services. I’ve been piecing together things and all of a sudden this pops up from a random Etsy seller completely within my price range.
Me: I think locking people up for smoking a plant is immoral.
Assistant DA: well heroin comes from a plant.
Me: I think locking people up for heroin is immoral too.
I think the most lived critique of the liturgical movement is that they changed liturgical practice with a post-Christian populace in mind and the Christians living in a post-Christian world have largely craved the things they changed from.
I did my first military committal today. I’m glad that it was for my grandfather and surrounded by family. So meaningful that I have faithful relatives who asked me to do this, and grateful always for the Christian hope proclaimed in the words of the Prayer Book.
Episcopalians: please lift your Armed Forces and Federal Ministries chaplains up this week as we gather to train, learn, and fellowship with one another.
I went to an Episcopal parish at a popular vacation spot. Without being too specific as to not disparage the parish, part of the strength of being an Episcopal Church is our rootedness and belonging in the breadth of the Anglican religion. (1/4)
After I learned the Fault in Our Stars was filmed at the Parish I work at, I can literally not look at this room the same way. WHERE IS THIS RUG I WANT IT
Happy Pride, especially to the group of dudes that redid my entire wardrobe, made me get curtains, and got me get soap that wasn’t a 3-in-1.
My life is demonstrably better, more joyful, and filled with beauty because of the queer folks that are in it. 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
I became an Episcopalian over 2 years ago, but the Methodist church that raised me still sends me love. They are proud of me. They affirm my choice. I hope to God one day everyone has a church that loves like they do. I got this on Aldersgate Day 2023, and I will cherish it.
My Holy Spirit moment today: There were 2 Muslim women, both immigrants, walking around campus, looking for anyone to help navigate a problem with the immigration system. They were told “if you go to a church - any church - there are good people that will help you.” Make it true.
I can’t stand the “wear a mask to save the economy” argument. Just no. Wear a mask in public because it saves human lives. That should be enough. If you need money to incentivize you to be a good person you’re actually a bad person.
