Sometimes the hardest part of being a physician is that everyone wants a little piece of you all day. Tech here, nurse there, doc there, procedure, consult, etc. It gets mentally exhausting. Especially by the end of the week.

"Your Twitter looks like Tony Hawk. And you've really embraced it by having his name as your username and even went the extra mile with the blue verified check and you on a skateboard. That's crazy. I'd love to meet him one day."

I don't understand why we're testing severe cases? Those who develop severe ARDS requiring ICU admission should be presumed to have COVID. The mild and moderate cases should be tested to avoid community spread.

Two male doctors who were correct and one ARNP who had no idea what was happening so ordered a CT to confirm that the two male doctors were correct.
After a long time of not understanding the cult following of Peloton, I have become one with the cult this week. With Omicron, I decided to stop training BJJ, so I needed to do something to stay active. To say I enjoy it is an understatement.

This is such a bad take.
So, we don't suppress the spread now because it's around forever? You're that impatient and selfish? I guess this is the general opinion of the USA and is why we're about to get decimated.
@samsfeelinggood
What would you have done otherwise?
Any other career I would have still been broke throughout my 20s (coming from a lower middle class family). Now I have an awesome job where I can try to help the sickest patients daily.
@Buccigross
I'm in shock. I have no idea how this family recovers. The week of a wedding... This is the most sadness I've felt in a long time for people I've never met.
@corpsechat
Had an attending text his intern "I love you, goodnight." instead of his gf. They kept that going as he became a senior and was running the team and checking in for the evening. Both are burly straight males.

Dude you host a podcast and make so many bad controversial tales you show up on my feed all the time and STILL have fewer followers than a dog wrapped in a blanket who tweets nonsense.

My favorite attending introduction was when one introduced me as, "My medical student and friend..."
I had worked with him for all of 1 hour.

So because some arbitrary ruling body says you can take a drop from a cart path but not roll out of a divot, you feel that's the only way to play the game. But yeah, you probably should play it from the divot. It at least gives you an excuse for when you skull it over the green.
If other services could stop recommending we perform procedures in their notes, that would be great.
I don't recommend cholecystectomy by General Surgery. I recommend surgery consult.

Dave no one is arguing that if you go frame by frame with a 120 FPS camera and zoom it up, enhance, enhance, he might be one molecule offside. Everyone is arguing that this has no reasonable impact on the game. It wasn't a fucking Danny Briere goal.

What about graduation day? We got to sit through the pain of Kanye MD grabbing the mic and proposing to another classmate.
I thought it was unbelievably selfish.

You never know what's good and what's bad. This is a concept I'm really trying to work on for myself.
It sounds like the actual firing was nonsense, but it lead to a great outcome.

When my mom had her hysterectomy, she asked me what her take should be on residents being involved in her case.
I told her that she needs to find a surgeon she trusts. If she trusts them, she should trust their judgement in allowing trainees to be involved.
I just realized today that my dog probably thinks I'm a terrible hunter. I'm gone every day, sometimes for 12 or 15 hours at a time, and sometimes in the wee hours, and I almost never return with food. In fact, other hunters sometimes take pity on me and bring me food.

Let's see. We've got a hospital that tried to sue to keep staff from leaving followed by a bill to limit payment to nursing travel agencies. Wonder if these things are all related?
Today is surreal. It's my last (official) day at Geisinger (as an associate) . When I picked this day, it felt so far down the road that I knew it wouldn't come. Now that it's here, I've been reflecting all morning.
While I was teaching a resident how to put in a port today, the patient said, "You're a great teacher! I think I could do one of these now!" I felt so proud and responded with, "Thank you so much! One more round of sedation please!"
@DGlaucomflecken
This is so innacurate.
The med student should have been found 3.5 feet away from the table, retracting the liver as hard as they could around 2 residents with one hand.
@blondemedSJW
I don't understand how liability can ever be on the resident. It's either on the staff for being lazy if asked to help, or it's on admin for providing inappropriate coverage. Never trainees.
