As the wealth gap grows, more people become millionaires. That means more people have the option to opt out of paying tax by moving abroad. That means ordinary people must pay MORE tax to make up the difference. Something NEEDS to be done to tax the rich even when they emigrate!.
A tiny 2% wealth tax, on 20k people would raise £24 billion per year to spend on the things that urgently need fixing in our country. We need some tax justice - the more money you have the less tax you pay and vice versa - that’s absurd.

If you think a vote for @TheGreenParty this year is a wasted vote, think again. This 👇 is Bristol City Council.

@read_this_if So if I pull out into another lane and cut you up as a driver, you're not going to have a problem?. Obstructions in bike lanes are just that!. They negate their purpose, delaying people & putting those who hadn't planned on sharing space with cars at greater risk.

@Thgoit I only wish it hadn't. It's not the first time and it won't be the last, thankfully most parents aren't brain dead, respond politely and decide to save themselves some money.

@_RileyLeachUK What that person was doing was poisoning my children, and his own. Not sure what cyclist you're referring to. I walked my children there in a pushchair.

This farmer's behavior cuts to the heart of our broken philosophy on land ownership & custodianship. Open land should be for everyone's use within reason. This means farmers should welcome people crossing their land & the public should respect farmers' crops & livestock. Simple.

This is a great example of why people don't cycle in cycle lanes. In this one clip there are at least SEVEN places where a cycle-lane user would need to give way, compared to just ONE for the road (the mini-roundabout).
This lady was awfully kind, and sounded her horn to let me know she was behind me. I ignored it the first time, so she did it a second time. I looked around, tried to wave her past, but she wasn't having any of it, went for a tactical close pass, and I caught up with her at the

@hodgiej People that hate cyclists already hated cyclists and have long treated them accordingly, such as parking in their infrastructure. This is known as 'cyclists fighting back'. If you don't like oppressed people standing up for themselves, that probably means you're an oppressor.

Dear @RachelReevesMP. In the Autumn budget, please can you restore the £233m that was illegally removed from @activetraveleng's funding. The miserable state of sustainable travel in England is beyond a joke, pushing people into costly travel alternatives.

@JPBWFarm Yeh, let's get rid of those people having a good time and get some cars through there!.

@go501A You need to grow some balls and ask people to stop hurting children when you see it.

@read_this_if Oh, and the cars can also "easily" go around the lane blockers, not sure what the issue is really. .

An 18 year old girl was reportedly killed yesterday. So while @LouHaigh drones on about the cost of car insurance & the normalising of cars, by extension, as "essentials", car culture continues to take lives.

30mins of Adrian Chiles gaslighting on how legal e-bikes are dangerous, when the dangerous behavior documented was simply people breaking existing laws. 2% of pedestrian collisions are from bikes, rest from vehicles. Will @BBCPanorama investigate the 98%?.

Poster in my office, encouraging staff to buy new electric vehicles to "play your part in the fight against climate change". The best thing to do, is to buy secondhand cars, or better yet, not buy one at all. @OctopusEnergy, if you're unsure what 'Greenwashing' is, it's this👇

@MelCThompsonNow Punish the car drivers then, their overuse of roads & obsession with speed is the reason we need segregated infra 🤦♂️.

How is it that @GOVUK can double up on legislation for "dangerous cycling" and yet still haven't bothered to regulate businesses manufacturing & selling powered bikes & scooters that are illegal to ride on the road unregistered and totally illegal on cycle facilities?

If you ever needed an advert for LTNs, look no further. - 56% decrease in collisions.- 33% increase in cycling.- 51% decrease in internal road traffic. - Only 3% increase in boundary road traffic.
Haringey set is to make all three of its trial LTNs permanent, according to cabinet papers just published. in the biggest, Bruce Grove West Green, cycling increased by 33%, collisions down by 56%, just a 3% increase in boundary road traffic

@Councillorsuzie @TheSun How is it that all these Tory candidates seem to be on the payroll of media outlets? 🤔. So much for independent journalism. I wonder if crime rates could be linked to Tory austerity. .

This prompts a very good conversation and it's staggering how so many simply don't understand the irrelevance of the cycle lane. 1.5 meters is 1.5 meters, whether or not there is some paint on the floor.
Contains 🤬. It happened again. Another entitled driver who is too thick to understand that I don't want to put myself at risk by cycling in the tick box cycle lane through a pinch point. Nice of them to drive so close that their number plate is nice and clear for the report.

Kill a cyclist while driving under the influence of class-A drugs and you'll STILL get less time in jail for planning (not doing) peaceful protest.
Driver distracted by phone and three times over legal limit for by-product of cocaine use was taking his kids to football when he hit and killed cyclist Colin Banks in "utterly avoidable" collision. Matthew Bates was jailed for three years and nine months.

Ah yes, I forgot you were still a child @JeremyClarkson. When I was in school, I distinctly recall that being the slogan of bullies who couldn't deal with the mature consequences of their cowardly self-amusement. Keep at it @MikeyCycling 👍

@PhilD_HCI You still need to use much of the other lane to overtake single file cyclists anyway. It literally makes no difference that they're riding two abreast. unless you're breaking the law when you overtake single file cyclists of course.

All we know is that speed limits DEFINITELY work for cars. I don't think I've EVER seen cars excessively breaking the speed limit. ESPECIALLY 20mph zones. Drivers take those VERY seriously. 😐.
A cyclist who fatally hit an 81 year old woman at 29mph in a 20mph zone successfully defended himself because "speed limits don't apply to cyclists in the same way as they do to motorists". Is this justified?

The results are in! 80% were in favour of the proposal to routinely close #CheddarGorge to motorised traffic for the better enjoyment of the location by walkers & wheelers 😀. The full report and consultation process is available below. #mendiphills.

@DaveHill "Private transport lifestyle choice". You mean, like cars. Except way cheaper on the economy and more beneficial for everyone involved?. You realise driving costs the UK economy £36bn every year just in collisions. .

@Boenau I'm willing to bet car culture is even more heavily subsidised. In the UK, fuel/vehicle related tax comes to 35bn. The economic cost of just road traffic collisions is £36bn. This doesn't account for road maintenance, new road construction or the impacts of pollution.
