this has been going around today, and it’s worth pointing out: Stan Lee hated Bob Kane. Lee thought Kane was an egotistical fool. Lee told stories about going to dinner with Kane and watching Kane bring up Batman to every single person he encountered, which is fucking hilarious.

Paul Reubens was a great, great friend. He gave me the muppets for my birthday and never forgot anyone’s birthday from our class. He was in my class at CalArts and room mates! He was always kind to me and to everyone. He will be missed.

well, since I was curious enough to go back and spend a minute refreshing my memory - maybe?
with a startle it occurs to me that perhaps not everyone has read Joe Casey and Ladronn’s Cable - semi-obscure, perhaps even a true “cult” object in 2021?
I cannot describe how absolutely mind boggling this was when it started dropping in the late 90s ... so little at the company was working, this felt like an atom bomb exploding from the most unlikely corner
also gave the character a second wind that kept going well into the 00s

I have a lot of positive feelings about John Romita, Sr’s art, but learning just how nice of a person he was is a real joy. Honestly RIP. A true icon of comics

Richard Corben is one of the bigger influences on Hayao Miyazaki. Before founding Ghibli, Miyazaki attempted to make an animated version of Rowlf. Corben rejected Miyazaki's pitch, but that experience helped plant the seeds for Nausicaa!

I don’t hate the post-Crisis period anywhere near as much as some and I still posit this is a very defensible position … Animated Series gets overlooked but really understood, on a primal level, what the central axes of the franchise were, and this guy made their first cut
Bibbo is the best post-Crisis addition to Superman, and I won't hear a word against it.
