Conservatives taking the high road all the time is what got us into this situation because liberals NEVER DO. This whole situation is an example of liberals always fighting dirty because why take this ex parte to a judge in the first place except that they knew they couldn't win an actual legal argument? And being told to destroy evidence before an upcoming trial is insane. Telling the Secretary of said department that he has no access is insane. And no one is going to hate you for saying it will lead to massive unpopularity because we are used to you being wrong.

What if we just took the top 3%? Because I'm perfectly fine with the best and the brightest immigrating here, staying forever, having best/bright children, and just overall helping our country raise the bar. If they come in through the front door and go through the process to show that they really want to be here and really want to be Americans, and then give it their all to contribute and be a part of our great nation....I will personally welcome them with open arms. The President's own mom was an immigrant, after all, leaving Scotland to find that American Dream at age 18.

They're not civically engaged because they have never had any civics education. It's a vicious cycle. I homeschool so I don't even know what's going on in public schools, but my 6 year old has already had lessons on how everyone needs to do their part in a community, how our government is organized, who the president, vice president, and some key cabinet members are, and the importance of volunteering (which she does twice a week). It's important to me that she be very aware not just of her rights as a citizen but also her responsibilities to not only her country in general, but her community specifically. And, frankly, if more parents took an active role in their children's education, we wouldn't have kids growing up incapable of reading and doing basic math and not knowing their rights and responsibilities. People put a lot of blame on the school system, but just like morals and values, education starts at home. Even for "away school" kids.

Tell me again why it is that we don't put little hydroelectric units at reservoirs and water treatment plants? We're already moving water at high pressure and volume. Why not let it do something productive while it's moving?

China having remote access to all the workstations at the treasury is some next level BS. You, like so many others, do a lot of complaining and fearmongering about what if they this or that, but you seem to get amnesia when it comes time to talk about the fact that they really are finding fraud, and they really are creating transparency. No one knew what USAID was doing before now, for example.
