The DA rejects the ban on family visits. It fundamentally undermines the right to dignity and goes to the heart of what makes us human. How can it be legal to visit a casino or a church service with 49 other people, but illegal to see one’s own family? -

Hospitals are full. At night and over weekends there tends to be significantly more trauma. Limiting movement/ the availability of alcohol during these times decreases trauma and frees up space/staff in casualty, AND decreases transmission of the virus by reckless drunk people.

This issue is so messed up. I know of guys that studied in China, who've been volunteering at state hospitals for 4 YEARS while waiting to hear from HPCSA. They studied medicine to work here, at home, where we need them. And the regulatory body just won't let them.
