Algorithm can much simpler. Malignant polyp = refer to colorectal surgeon + colorectal cancer MDT.
A malignant polyp is a T1 cancer, nothing more, nothing less. It is not just residual cancer, but risk of nodal disease, tumour location, and patient factors that must be assessed.

At my group practice there's a long standing historical habit of calling front desk reception staff "the girls".
I tried to change this, but I failed.
Interestingly, all the surgeons (both genders) AND front desk staff genuinely asked for it to continue. Not sure exactly why.

Too often an ultralow anastomosis supports the surgeons ego more than the patients qol. Patients differ in their tolerance for a stoma vs lars. Balanced personalised patient centred consent is crucial.
