This is the reason that Firefighters should always wear Water Rescue PPE at flooding incidents and not Firefighting PPE.
Residents bravely save a firefighter who had been swept away by floodwater. Even shallow water is dangerous.
Thinking of those affected and responding to this incredible flooding.

Immense courage and determination from the initial crews to rescue the occupants of this house, who were faced with a horrendous situation.
Please, please make sure you have a working smoke alarm in your property.
Last night emergency services were called to a house fire in Whittier Road, Sneinton, at 12.43am.
Sadly a man and a woman were pronounced dead at the scene. A joint fire and police investigation is taking place today to establish the cause of the fire.
