Our crews recently faced delays in attending incidents due to dangerous parking. Please, if you're parking on a narrow road, especially during a busy event, think: "Could a fire engine (or an ambulance) get past me?" It might mean the difference between life and death... 🔥 🚒

Great Glen publican Cimi Kazazi has received an award from @NatPubwatch for helping a woman trapped in her car outside his pub, during the recent flash floods. While we would always urge the public not to enter flood waters themselves, we recognise his selfless act of bravery.

Please take care if you're travelling today, as #StormEowyn is causing disruption. Plan your journey and be prepared for delays and re-routes. If you wish to report debris in the road that is not an immediate risk to life, please do so via your local council's website. Thank you.

To report downed trees or debris in the road, please visit your local councils website. In the first instance they are the most appropriate agency to deal with these issues. We urge you to only call 999 if there is any immediate danger or a risk to life. Thank you.

Thank you to our partners at Leicestershire County Council, their highways team and their gritters, for helping to keep our local roads safe during the continuing wintry conditions. This weekend looks set to remain very cold indeed - please take extra care and plan your journey.

🌧️ Some roads may still be affected by flooding. If flood water blocks your route, do not drive through it - it is often deeper than you think. Don't go around road closure signs, find an alternate route. If you get stuck and it’s an emergency, call 999 🚒

Heading out this New Year’s Eve? 🎉 Stay safe! 🔥 Last night, Eastern’s Blue Watch attended a kitchen fire from an unattended tumble dryer. 🚪 Close doors to prevent fire spread and avoid leaving appliances running while out. Stay safe and Happy New Year! 🥳
