Parents. Take your kids to the 7:00 of this presser. After the 2005 season ended in the national title game, Cook pulls DBK in to tell her she can’t set anymore. They need to go to a 5-1. She’ll be libero. Her response? FU. Three days later, Cook calls her mom because he hadn’t seen her. “She’ll be in to see you this afternoon.” Cook is crying now. “And she brings in a letter that basically says I will do whatever this team needs me to do.” We can PARENT that. In a world where we are supposed to quit or transfer. We can help our kids learn. It may have been the most impactful decision of her life.
