Well it’s official, we can welcome all of our children back from 8th March. We can’t wait to see you all face to face. Two more weeks smashing home learning then back to seeing your friends in person. Mr Richardson
Last year parents raised money for the school with the instruction to use some of it to treat the staff. Mr Richardson allocated a a building maintenance budget to decorate our staff room. We used some of the donation to purchase a new kettle, toaster and microwave. Thank you!!
Update 2 The announcement came to us at the same time as it did to everyone else. Please allow us the time to meet as a leadership team and governing body to bring you all the answers ASAP. Mr Richardson
We absolutely loved our zoom call with Doncaster Rovers' captain, Ben Whiteman, this afternoon! Terrific Tigers! Thanks so much for the opportunity

Here is a treat Sunnyfields...watch the staff using their ‘Tim and Tom Teamwork’ skills to help Miss Smith out. Thanks to

Blown away by our community. Thank you to Mr Heptinstall (Dad to Emily and Sophie) who has made this amazing owl for our woodland area and this huge plaque which we will display in our library as an ongoing memory of the lockdown. Thank you. Mr Richardson
A strange but awesome half term. Well done to all of our children for their ‘Richie Resillence’. A massive thank you to parents for supporting during home learning. A huge thank you to the Sunnyfields Staff team. You have worked so hard and make me so proud. Mr Richardson.
In what has been a challenging year for many, we hope that you have a fabulous Christmas break. We can’t wait to see you on January 4th 2021 for lots more fun, laughter and learning. Mr Richardson
What a bunch of legends! I will miss every single pupil in my wonderful class! See you very soon Jaguars and don’t forget to keep a diary of this surreal time in history! ~ Miss Lumley 👩🏻🏫
Sunny Fest Saturday 29th June 1-4 pm. Bring a picnic, enjoy some live bands and see what we have done with the woods and fields. Invite to pupils, parents and staff past and present. For the big kids out there we will make sure that the PE equipment is out!!
Rest assured we are working hard to accommodate as many critical worker children as possible. We are at capacity at the moment. Staff are also working flat out to ensure that remote learning is up and running.
What a start to our ‘Active Travel Day’. A full street closure thanks to
@MyDoncaster
, circus skills, bike maintenance, smoothie making and so much more!
A beautiful sunny morning to celebrate the life of our friend and colleague Tracey Booth. The Sunnyfields Team are still devastated but we are determined to put a smile on people’s faces today. Children we can’t wait to see you at 1pm. Mr Richardson
Following the Prime Minister’s address, I ask parents to ensure that all possible alternative methods of childcare have been considered. The message is clear, the safest place for both children & staff is at home. Please support me in making pupil / staff contact minimal. Mr R
Almost there with setting up the YouTube channel. I am eating for the live stream function to be authorised which will take 24 hours. Fingers crossed we will be able to have an asssmebly tomorrow afternoon. Fingers crossed 🤞 Mr Richardson

Hot Chocolate Friday for our Learners of the Week. Mr Richardson visits the classes with his trolley of treats, 90s rock music blaring out and his rather fetching tabard. Congrats to our learning legends!
Update - The staff are ready and prepared for the day ahead! Our priority today is to plan collection of school lunches for children who qualify for free school meals and are currently self isolating from tomorrow.
The senior leadership team are meeting at 8:15pm. We have received the announcement at the same time as you. We will try and get some communication out tonight.
Update 1 Please refrain from calling the school regarding the latest Government announcement. I understand that people want answers to many questions, all of which we aim to answer at some point tomorrow. This is a stressful and uncertain time for staff as well as families.
School will reopen tomorrow. For any families that have been affected by the floods please pop into school and see Mr Richardson or Mrs Hides so that the school can provide any support needed.
I watched the Prime Minister’s update at the same time as our families. Over the next three weeks i will be working with the Local Authority, Governors, Senior Leadership Team and staff to plan and see what is possible in terms of planning a phased reopening...
2/2 I have worked with remaining staff to plan for tomorrow. We have got all classes from FS2 to Y6 covered and planned for. We have also got workpacks ready for children who are working at home. More info can be found on our website. A huge thank you to my team. Mr Richardson.

Oh my goodness.I am just having my morning ‘brew’ before getting ready for work. This has absolutely broken me (as you can see I had another emotional moment). Thank you so much to everybody involved and for your generosity. We have all missed the children so much. Mr Richardson
It is with a heavy heart that I need to let you know that Mrs Booth passed away last night after fighting a serious illness. Our thoughts are with her family. The Sunnyfields Staff are devastated at the loss of our colleague. Mr Richardson
Our Christmas Trees have arrived ready for planting. Remember you can sponsor a tree for £2 and then harvest it in a few years time!! Remember to check when your child is planting their tree so that you can come along and join the fun.
Everyday I wake up feeling so proud to lead Sunnyfields. This is even more poignant this morning as Y6 take their last SAT test. I am immensely proud of their focus and attitude. An attitude that is so well supported by amazing staff and parents. Well done Y6! Mr R

Wow! Look at all of our amazing little bakers! We had an incredible turn out for The Great Jubilee Bake Off. Well done to all the finalists

Rest assured we are working extremely hard behind the scenes to manage all of the information and advice re: Coronavirus. We are busy planning for all eventualities. Mr Richardson
Thank you for your support so far. We know this is a stressful and anxious time. The Leadership Team has drafted plans for next week but due to lack of information from the government we are still waiting to finalise these. Clear information will go out tomorrow to all parents.
We have been made aware of parents complaining about a ‘two parent rule’ for critical workers. The school is CLOSED we are providing limited childcare on a skeleton staff to reduce the spread of COVID 19. Priority has to go to NHS frontline staff and emergency services.
We have started following
@wecangrowltd
as we are hoping to work with them in the future. We would also like to win the competition for a years free subscription. Parents and friends pease retweet, like and give them a follow.
Further to the letter parents have all received about our Jubilee celebrations, our very supportive FOS have kindly offered to cover the cost of the Jubilee button badges to ensure all our children receive a commemorative reminder of this very special occasion.
In our ‘in the news’ assembly with Mr Richardson we discussed
#jakedaniels
‘coming out’ and how this has no impact on his football. We also looked at how Mattel were making new dolls to represent a wider range of people
#PSHEatSunnyfields
While you have been away we have been busy working on site to get the school ready for that special day when you all return. We have a new extension to Meerkat and Zebras Playground. The new lines and equipment will go in at Easter. Crocodiles get their own outdoor area with more
The teachers are all going on a book blind date this weekend and will be sharing their mystery book with their classes on world book day next week! 📚♥️
Brilliant first week back for Y1 and Y6. They have been fantastic. Thank you to parents for supporting the school by following the one way system and socially distancing. Your children have done you proud. Nursery and Reception back next week. Mr Richardson.
So proud of the super start that y1 and y6 have made on their return to school. On to the second half of those year groups on Thursday and Friday. The boom box and bubble machine will be out again on Thursday. (If you know you know) Mr Richardson
The school will remain open, contrary to reports in the press,
until Friday 18th December. Information will be provided to parents next week on procedures to inform the leadership team (who will be on duty until Christmas Eve) of any positive Covid cases.
