Looking back at it, the 2021 Nats lineup was incredible. If Schwarber doesn’t pull his hamstring, that team makes a DEEP playoff run. Crazy
1. Kyle Schwarber
2. Trea Turner
3. Juan Soto
4. Josh Bell
5. Starlin Castro
6. Josh Harrison
7. Yan Gomes
8. Victor Robles
9. Max Scherzer
Sources: The Nationals have promoted top prospect James Wood to AA.
The move comes after he torched high-A pitching in recent games (and posted a .972 OPS at the level).
More here (and more coming on it):
If Jeimer is still on the team tomorrow night I’m gonna go absolutely ballistic. A generational sellers market, a top 5 3B, and a rebuilding team are perfect matches for a trade, it needs to happen
What I think the Nationals should do post deadline:
Start Alu most days at 3B
Dickerson should be gone one way or another
Play Riley at DH and try him at 1B
Call up Rutherford and have him play right with Thomas in center
In September give Millas a taste (+ Rutledge if improved)
@BarstoolUIowa
At no point in the game did it seem Iowa would lose, the score just wasn’t as high as some of the other teams. A team should never be removed from the top 25 because of a win, especially when teams that lost are still in it.
Kyle Finnegan will become an elite reliever when there are other good relievers in the pen to take some of his workload. The last three years he's fallen apart in September because of his workload.
I’m going to say this as calmly as I can: this is not the players faults. They are trying their best and making the adjustments that the coaching staff tells them to make. It is said coaching staff that is the epicenter of the hive of incompetence that is the 2023 nationals.

It never should have gotten to a point where this needed to be said TWICE. Nobody is denying that Chad Kuhl didn’t have his best outing, but this level of hatred, not just towards him, but towards his family is completely unacceptable.
To celebrate the beginning of [hopefully] the final rebuilding offseason for the Nationals, every day this month I will be posting a random player who played with the Nationals during this rebuild, along with their stats.
Day one⬇️
Rene Rivera-C/2021
4 G, .214 (3-14) 0 XBH 0 RBI
Who has your least favorite player in Nationals history been? I’ll start: Maikel Franco. Whenever he came up you knew it was gonna be a GIDP or K, and he had minus fielding and speed.
I know the Nationals tried to carry on the baby shark thing too long, but I have to admit, seeing baby shark play for the first time in 2021 right before Schwarber’s third homer was one of the happiest moments for me as a Nationals fan since the World Series.
Rochester swept their doubleheader, winning both games by a run.
Totals across both games:
Baker
4-7, RBI, 3 SB
Wood
4-7, BB, RBI, K, 2 SB
These two executed a double steal in game 2. Wood 2nd, Baker home.
Let me say something: the people that are criticize Davey Martinez and Mike Rizzo aren't 'trolls and bots who are running multiple accounts'. They are members of the fanbase who disagree with the decisions that are being made in high places and are voicing their opinions about it
Top 10 Nationals of all time:
1. Ryan Zimmerman
2. Stephen Strasburg
3. Max Scherzer
4. Bryce Harper
5. Jason Werth
6. Gio Gonzalez
7. Anthony Rendon
8. Ian Desmond
9. Adam Laroche
T. 10. Trea Turner
T. 10. Juan Soto
C - Keibert Ruiz
1B - Joey Meneses
2B - Luis Garcia
SS - CJ Abrams
3B - Nick Senzel
LF - Stone Garrett
CF - Victor Robles
RF - Lane Thomas
DH - Carter Kieboom
Patrick Corbin
Josiah Gray
MacKenzie Gore
Trevor Williams
Jake Irvin

𝗥𝗨𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗦: The “expectation” is that the
#Steelers
will explore signing Ryan Tannehill to the roster, per
@MikeGarafolo
Arthur Smith is the Steelers’ new OC and he has a strong relationship with Tannehill from their time together in Tennessee.

Day six of posting a random Nationals player from this rebuild for the rest of this month:
Aaron Sanchez-SP/2022
7 G, 7 GS, 8.33 ERA (29 ER in 31.1 INN), 16 SO, 8 BB, 3-3 record
Without this trade (and the Soto one) nats would be nowhere near where they are today. Because of these moves we could seriously contend for a WC spot with a FA SP, big bat, and a few other role players.
This is a disaster. Pray for Tua. Fire the medical staffs and coaches. I predicted this and I hate that I am right. Two concussions in 5 days can kill someone. This can end careers. How are we so stupid in 2022.
Day three of posting a random Nationals player from this rebuild for the rest of this month:
Alberto Baldonado-RP/2021
14 G, 8.44 ERA (10 ER in 10.2 INN), 12 SO, 7 BB, 0-1 record
The Nationals will lose 95-100 games this year, and than people will defend the billionaires and say "we can't spend after when we're still rebuilding". Our farm system has no depth: we need to SPEND to win.
Day fourteen of posting a random Nationals player from this rebuild for the rest of this month:
Rico Garcia-RP/2023
3 G, 12.00 ERA (4 ER in 3 INN), 4 SO, 1 BB, 0-0 record
