@TheCiderShedPod A predictable case of 'when all else fails make a flood'...and as for yesterday's monologue between Jolene and 'm'darlin', I don't recall many chats in the past that was so much about a silent character! Will Neville Booth come 'n help with the flood thing now?

@Basmans_grob @poshfrocks So 2 parties pay for the pensions of all 600+ MPs? As in Labour and Tory parties? - not the MPs at all - paying it? Waddya know...didn't know the 2 main parties had those sorts of funds to pay for LibDem/Reform pensions etc..

@Basmans_grob @poshfrocks I posted the detail from Parliament. So very sorry they pay their own...O hold on, and the Treasury pay into it..and its a Last Salary one..so I think my point stands...as they have even a portion from the Treasury they could easily be excluded from the State one, to make it fair

@poshfrocks And - this 2nd home allowance thing - do they pay back profits gained from renting out any homes eg Rachel Reeves lives at number 11, rents out the home, gets the allowance - but what about the rent?;

@99_hp @JRmonkeybaby @Jenny_1884 2) I paid NI for the State one, we scrimped and scraped savings that now pay for 1 week a year in Bexhill. No 48" TV, fancy phones, fancy Foreign Holidays or SUV on the never never here. An 07 Reg Focus. And my wife has CFS/ME, no cure, years to wait for any sort of CBT..

@99_hp @JRmonkeybaby @Jenny_1884 The MPs expect that - they have the State Pension + their massive State last salary pension index-linked + Expenses, discounted catering and £3K fuel allowance + 2nd home allowance. My wife is a WASPI and we just have my State one + a small private pension.

@stevegr666 @NaomiRipon1111 @AngelaRayner 3) - Why not take away the State one for those retiring on over £60K salaries? That way they don't extract pensions from the State twice! They would still have the larger one - still better than us on just 1 !

@stevegr666 @NaomiRipon1111 @AngelaRayner 2) - No 48" screen on a wall, our 07 Reg Focus is thankfully reliable, never had discounted catering at work like the hard up MPs on £94K a year, and no twice state funded pension here ie that massive last salary index linked MP one + the State one -

@stevegr666 @NaomiRipon1111 @AngelaRayner My wife is one of those! We survive on my State pension, a small private one, no 'Expenses', fuel allowance of £3K- WFA taken- 1 week holiday paid for by Savings we scrimped and scraped for, no fancy holidays, no SUV on the never never (call it PCP - which we could never afford)-

@salwaykerry @Pamjjo51 @hawkins_carole @AngelaRayner 3) - No fancy holidays, 48" Screen dominating the wall, hugely expensive fancy phones, or SUV on the never never (called PCP now at £500 a month that we could only dream of when I worked) - an 07 Reg Focus that thankfully is reliable..no sacrifices in the Commons that's for sure.

@salwaykerry @Pamjjo51 @hawkins_carole @AngelaRayner 2) Why does the Govt pay them twice in Retirement ? If they have that big fat last salary one, why not take away the State one the rest of us have PAID FOR via NI ? Because my wife is a WASPi we exist on my State one + a tiny private one we paid into -

@salwaykerry @Pamjjo51 @hawkins_carole @AngelaRayner Exactly - and these people in Parliament won't either - massive last salary pension paid for by the Govt + the state pension paid for - AGAIN - by the Govt + their Expenses, discounted catering at the Commons, 2nd home allowance, and FUEL allowance past £3K..
