@itvnews @Peston This is just basic statistics. It is staggering that @itvnews don’t check rather than needless scaremongering. If I have 90 people vaccinated and 10 not vaccinated and 80% of those non-vaccinated catch it, that’s a total of 8. If 10% of those vaccinated get it that’s 9, ie more.

@PaulBrandITV My little boy had his 5th birthday party in the first lockdown via zoom with grandparents and cousins singing on an iPad and watching as he blew out his candles. Party cancelled, hearts broken. We followed the rules those who made them couldn’t be bothered following.

@Samfr Also, why are they thinking ‘Parent Tax’ will stick. ‘Pasty Tax’, ‘Dementia Tax’, etc work because they were relevant to huge numbers. I’m a parent, I know this tax won’t impact my family and over nine in ten parents will think the same. The CCHQ operation is truly dreadful atm.

@MartinSLewis No, my reading is that the Ministerial and Other Salaries Act 1975 refers to one party - being the official opposition. MPs always sit as representing their individual parties, they can form a government as a coalition (Crown appointments) but that is distinct from Parliament.
