Postpartum depression, anxiety and OCD are getting more exposure, but they're still not talked about near enough. For months after birth, I was convinced I was going to die, along with my husband and baby. It's taken months of Zoloft & therapy to recover.
Only in the past few weeks have I been able to tell my husband that I'm not regularly experiencing suicidal ideation.
The PPD hole is so deep and dark and scary.

As a theology-driven daughter who grew up with a staunch complementarian father, this is so so encouraging. My dad has softened in many ways, but I'm still waiting for him to see the light on this issue 🙃 (He supports me in reality, but not in his ideology if that makes sense)

Pregnancy anxiety is weird. I just went in for my 36 week pelvic exam and they couldn't feel my baby's head down by my cervix—but instead of worrying about her position, my first thought was "Omg does she even have a head?" (Despite the fact I've seen it on multiple ultrasounds)

It is odd to see Evangelical adoption of liturgical Christian language or practice while so many remain clueless about (or cherry-pick/reject) the sacramental theology that undergirds the historic tradition. It seems like sheerly an aesthetic movement, presently fashionable.

I loved working on this piece! It resonated with my own experience with postpartum OCD/anxiety—which also surrounded sleep, but due to a fear of dying). I've been on Zoloft for a couple of months and it has helped me tremendously. Praise the Lord for pills! Can I get an amen?

We got into a vicious cycle when our baby girl hit her four month sleep regression at five months old... After about a month of it getting steadily worse (from 1-3, to 3-5, to 5-8 wake-ups a night) I finally relented and did CIO... Only took 3 nights til she began sleeping thru!!
