@Noahpinion At least in 1945 you know the good guys won. 1942 was probably the darkest year of the 20th century to live through.

@E_Universalis Keep it and just win the war by allying Castile/burgundy, or keep it and give everything to France in the war to go for a UK naval empire run.

The rest of the world may not care, but the Jewish people are watching today. We haven’t seen images like this since 1945 and we aren’t going to let things go back to status quo ante bellum.
Eli Sharabi was released this morning as part of the hostage deal. This is how he looks after enduring captivity under Hamas. Dozens of Israelis remain in captivity. Israeli TV (12) is now reporting that, only upon his release, he has learned the devastating news that his entire family—his wife Lianne and two teenage daughters Noiya (16) and Yahel (13)—were murdered by Hamas on October 7.

@johnburns_ @artisanrocky @AlaskanTzar @chillariclinton Completely agree, social issues tend to be more salient. However the Stewart/AOC camp is also far to the left of most Americans on social issues.

@artisanrocky @bananasrviolet @AlaskanTzar @chillariclinton Many stayed home, many also switched. You don’t know why they stayed home, and you can’t attribute the win to only one and not the other that’s unfair. And I’m talking only about the presidential election the state election dynamics are usually very different.

@artisanrocky @AlaskanTzar @chillariclinton Surely you agree there’s something between AOC and “blatantly right wing”? She’s basically the furthest left democrat in congress or one of them. I, for one, voted for Kamala and would not be at all enthusiastic about AOC. And I never said anything about “perfect center”.

@bananasrviolet @artisanrocky @AlaskanTzar @chillariclinton No. The point is that only 7% thought she wasn’t progressive enough, and most of those people voted for her anyway. There’s little gain from moving further left and lots to lose. And there’s another poll I can’t find rn sorry but it showed about 70% said Biden was to their left.

@artisanrocky @AlaskanTzar @chillariclinton Fine you can have that opinion. The question was whether they could win, not if you agree with them. The nation disagrees with you.

@artisanrocky @AlaskanTzar @chillariclinton No. I’m saying AOC is far to the left of Harris and Harris was already considered too far left by most swing voters which is why she lost.

@artisanrocky @AlaskanTzar @chillariclinton That’s a strawman. There’s plenty of space between AOC and trump lol. Twitter isn’t real life.
