This shows an important concept: animated acting is not the same as proper stage/real acting. A lot of animated acting would be just plain bad if real people did it in movies. It’s sorta obv ig, but knowing the difference is important. A shot may call for more of one or the other
Just wanna say that this stuff is context dependent. Pushing poses is great but needs to work with the motion. The pose on the right works if miles does a handspring or something after. The left doesnt have that intention to me. So the right pose may be the wrong choice. Context!
Tried some 8FPS animation last weekend. I've seen and framed through some Naruto fights on 3s that still look smooth and it blows my mind :0 I don't have the time to properly finish it but it was a fun experiment :D

Although it’s the same timing, by playing with spacing/adding texture, you can achieve different results in the end. By understanding the intention/idea behind the move, you can then decide what type of ‘energy’ you’re looking for.

Below is the process I went through to plan the anim.
Some shots from the poke-short! Animating in stepped makes me enjoy animation 20% more, it was super fun :D I was able to sneak in a 4 frame hold in the shot of Mismagius flying around eheh.
Also shout out to Pat Casao who I tag teamed with for a few of the Maushold shots <3
Might do a micro update later to add prop bones with space switching. Mainly for the weapons. I could maybe make a little tutorial on how to do that for rigify rigs if there's interest.🤔

Cinematography and Colors were SO GOOD. And while I could only understand the gist of the story at my level of Japanese, it was very heartwarming. Especially the ending 😭 I won’t spoil anything, but I think any artist can relate.

Learning Japanese is crazy cause you’ll realize how much u suck at English. Not even in like a meme sorta way like. Wtf is a intransitive verb?? The hell is nominalization? I shoulda paid more attention in English class man
quite disappointing tbh. Seems like blenders most powerful free autorigger won't ship with blender anymore, and won't be updated with each new version of blender unless someone external stays on top of it.
don't usually see animation (especially as stylized as this) used for something as mundane as romance tbh? I think that's what makes this exciting to me, really interested in it

Does anyone else feel like young adults display a distinct lack of professionalism? They don’t know how to dress for interviews, send emails, network, write resumes, or conduct themselves professionally in a lot of ways and I’m wondering where this “gap” is being created.
Whenever I get new followers I gotta wonder how long it takes them to figure out I’m just an anime nerd that does art stuff sometimes lol…

Was talking about this yesterday but animation master studies are amazingly useful. I don’t think I’ve seen them talked about all that often? Take a piece of animation you admire and try to copy it 1 for 1. You’ll learn so much in the process. Of course it’s a little more-

tutorial on setting up space switching controls with rigify. It lets you animate prop interaction and what not super easily! No need to deal with pesky constraints mwahaha

One thing I like about mixed frame animation is that the frame rate becomes part of the animation. The choice to use 3s over 2s for a particular motion for example. I like having that control and for it to be for a reason. I’m not certain smoother is always better tbh
For action heavy stuff I’m in stepped until basically the very end. Spline and polish are the same for me.
I find because I set so many keys, the transition to spline never feels floaty. But it’s also important to think about spacing while blocking. Doing stepped with 1s in-
