Why are the Shia looked at in derision by Sunnis and associated with innovations and shirk? We often blame the Salafi propaganda machine, and while that plays a significant role, we need to reflect on ourselves.

We as Shia shouldn't get offended when someone points out that famous supplications are weak in their chains. This does not mean we abandon these supplications. My favourite supplications are Dua Abu Hamza, Dua Jawshan, and Dua Kumayl, even though they're all weak.

@Farid_0v Furthermore, you keep assuming non-Muslims would take for granted that Sunnis preserve testimony of eyewitnesses. Why would they accept that your hadiths are authentic to companions just because they're quoted through chains (that can only be authenticated using Sunni rijal).

We shouldn't be scared of this. You can read weak supplications, no problem, so long as their contents don't contain false beliefs and you don't attribute them to the Prophet [s] or Imams [a]. Simply say, "It's narrated that the Imam used to read this Dua", and you're good to go.

@musulmanita_ I can't say I would have had the courage to make the decision you made if I was in your position. May Allah reward you and make it easy for you.

@RebecMasterton @YouTube May Allah reward you for defending Shi'ism. Just a correction, the Jabir in the chain is not Jabir b. Abdallah al-Ansari [ra], rather it's Jabir b. Yazid al-Ju`fi. Jabir b. Abdallah did not narrate from Imam Muhammad al-Baqir [a], rather Imam al-Baqir would narrate from him.

@toxic_sovereign I don't believe they were his students in the sense that people think of. And even if they were, a student can differ with their teacher and this is a normal thing in Islamic scholarship.

@Zaydiyya I beg you to stop copy pasting from Modarresi's Crisis and Consolidation as if it's the word of God. Turn your brain on and actually be critical of his work like you would any other work.

@omar_gddd I wouldn't say Zaydis are indistinguishable from Sunnis. Zaydis are similar in many areas of fiqh but then so are Ja'faris if you actually compare our fiqh to the four schools (we tend to agree with Hanbalis). When it comes to theology, Zaydis are totally different.

@nasafism The same is attributed to Imam Jafar [a] in Shia sources:

@Farid_0v Yes, but you're presupposing that Sunni hadiths *are* eyewitness testimonies. Why would non-Muslims accept that a hadith Bukhari quotes with a chain of four narrators to a companion is an eyewitness testimony? Hadiths in general aren't convincing for non-Muslims. The Quran is.

4. Learn different dua to recite in qunut. Just like learning different surahs, learning different dua to recite in qunut can help prayer feel less repetitive.

5. Do dua and tasbih after prayer. Tasbih Fatima is highly mustahab after prayer as its benefits have been related to us through authentic hadiths from our Imams [a]. Reciting dua and tasbih after prayer is extremely mustahab and is a great way to get the most out of prayer time.

Separating prayers is not only the dominant practice of the Imams but it also makes it feel like you're praying all throughout the day. Instead of doing 2 rak‘at, then 8 rak‘at back to back, then 7 rak‘at back to back, they're spread out in the day.

@Zayd_al_Jazairi @Farid_0v Why is it ridiculous? Did Nabi Yusuf, peace be upon him, not hide the truth from his brothers for fear of being harmed?
