I’ve wanted to make a thread of practical tips for incoming 1Ls, so here it is. First: please do not try to study substantive law before 1L begins. It will not be helpful, and it’s a waste of your last weeks of free time.

@TaylorOSoule Yes, I see that on most wedding websites now! Super easy. And at worst I think if you have to assume in some situation, it’s always better to assume individual names. I am planning to change mine but would never be offended if referred to as my current name.

@TaylorOSoule It’s free to ask! And if all else fails, just do both full names! I wouldn’t be offended by a “Mr. Alex Lastname and Mrs. Sara Schroeder”

@MrAndrewHongEsq They’re already here! Tesla has the WORST culture in big tech and literally no one would work there if they weren’t terrified of deportation :(. The stories on the big tech boards like Blind are really sad. Folks working 100 hrs/week for $130k and being abused but can’t quit

@TiredBambooLaw It’s harder when you’re junior too. Now that I’m senior enough to have a reputation and good exit options I rarely sacrifice sleep/exercise and only to get to the finish line.

@truthandhyssop Yep! Every mother should be proud! Birth is one of the most difficult (but also rewarding I’m sure) things you can put your body through.

The only time I go back through work is when I go back to see if I some emails on another matter while I was working on matter X most of the day, or I had some emails from my phone, etc. And I usually bill very little for those cuz it’s usually a handful.

@mikeassad I also think being a woman from California hurt her a bit with moderates.
