I find it interesting that the majority of Haitian people are of Kongo ancestry, yet Kongo culture didn't take root in Haiti as much as Dahomean culture. Same thing in Brazil. Most Afro-Brazillians come from Kongo, yet they follow the Ifa & Orisha.

Yea, in terms of Africa, Haitians identity more with the West (Dahomey and Nago). We really view benin as the mother land. And it’s funny because by 1791 (before the revolution) over 50% of the enslaved in Saint Domingue 🇭🇹were Bantu people from the Great Lakes 🇷🇼🇨🇩🇨🇬
