Antrobus and Notting Hill 💚 LibDem 🔶 Regular housing-association-shouter-at-er 🏡 Fighting for PROW and countryside access 🥾 DMs open to anyone needing help
As Manchester turns into London, horrifically online YIMBYs rejoice because ‘look at the big shiny towers’
Unliveable, overpriced investment property is not housing. Tearing up places that employ people to build income streams for the very rich is not progress.
How am I supposed to go back to school in September and tell my classes to be kind, compassionate, understanding, and polite to one and other when this is the example being set by the education secretary?
@andreajenkyns
care to come & offer them a personal explanation?
I started at The Bartlett only months after the fire. 3 years of architecture school and nobody mentioned Grenfell ONCE.
The industry has washed its hands of the 72 lives we lost. 5 years on and the construction industry still takes no responsibility and shows no remorse…
Labour just aren’t out in Mid Beds! No activists and haven’t seen a single stakeboard!
Here’s a pic of me with one of our lovely Lib Dem ones in Clophill 🔶🔶
When Notting Hill was first planned and garden squares laid out, it was because we understood how important green space was for public health
When Wornington Green was built 100-odd years later, the same
So why do
@catalysthousing
not consider it true in 2022?
@TreesWornington
This is Linden Gardens in Pembridge. Every time I ring Peabody it’s flagged as an emergency, then when you call back a week later you find out nobody fixed it and it’s been forgotten about…
5 years on, same old BS 💚
🚨 North Kensington - in the sight of the Grenfell Tower, tenants have complained of their fire safety alarms being broken for over a year. Yet after many complaints Peabody still haven’t fixed it I’ve been told.
Nearly 5 years on this is still happening 🤦🏽♂️
Over A YEAR
The low traffic neighbourhood that changed my life by giving me the confidence to ride a bike has officially been made permanent.
Today is a very, very, very, good day.
Tomorrow at 1030 the court ruling on RBKC’s removal egregious removal of the High Street Ken cycle lane will be announced.
@betterstreetskc
have worked tirelessly to get this far, fighting for safe streets and clean air for future generations
Sweet dreams tonight everyone x
I’ve had to put a coat on… Sutton Weaver - send off those postal votes today! Get 3 councillors who are already working hard with your neighbours in Halton for fairer bridge tolls, better busses, and a safer underpass
And just like that… Gone.
Trees felled and what had become a home to so many destroyed on Wornington Green this morning. The sound of chainsaws and *actual cheering* from the operatives. A very sad day and more than a few tears, but the fight to save this estate goes on
This is frustrating…
3months campaigning from Labour, even less from the Tories.
@EmmaMidBeds
has been running surgeries and filling the gap left by Nadine for almost a year, but Lab and Con feel entitled to your vote and FPTP rewards them for it.
Whatever happens next, I will always be grateful to the people who took their time in the last three months to talk to me about the issues that affect their lives.
Mid Bedfordshire is our home. If I am lucky enough to be your MP, I will not let you down.
RBKC has finally admitted it’s culpable for deaths at Grenfell (if only 9). This is so long overdue, and must be followed by resignations and prosecutions
We in North Ken are here to make sure that happens 💚
#JusticeForGrenfell
RBKC is the final boss in this game where cyclists have to not get hit by cars in London! That’s how notoriously appalling our council’s treatment of bicycle users has been.
I've made a little video game.
About Santa delivering his presents by bike in London.
Easier in some boroughs than others...
Move the bike, avoid the cars, collect everything else. Sound on 😁
Enjoy! And Happy Christmas!
Ending the week delivering Wornington leaflets on Chesterton Rd. This planning application is truly awful, and we need as many residents as possible to make their voices heard!
Thanks so much to
@betterstreetskc
and
@TreesWornington
for the fantastic leaflets spreading the word
We’ve been getting ready for 24 Hearts with my
@AnsonPrimary
KS1s this afternoon!
Kids are very excited that their work will be hung ‘from space like a bird star’…
Out knocking in Colville with
@WilliamHoungbo
yesterday!
Lovely conversations. Guess what, everyone is sick of the Tories, and nobody likes Starmer?!? Well there’s a shocker 🫨
The single Tory seat here is Beconsfield, where in 2019 LDs stood aside for Dominic Grieve and Labour were squeezed to their lowest ever. Almost certain that the Tories would lose that too on this metric…
Also I don’t believe it for a second, just for funs
How many Labour activists does it take to find the front door of a farmhouse?
5. No worries though guys - country boy over here got there first and they’re voting ‘not Labour’ 👍
@labourball
Since this construction, central Manchester has seen an absurdly exponential increase in property prices. The cost of this is greater than a car park - it’s the people and businesses pushed out as M gentrifies (more rapidly than any other UK city in memory, I’d hazard)
Give us a thumbs up if we’ve gutted your estate of all its mature trees as part of a redevelopment which will price you out of the housing market forever and irreversibly damage the quality of the air you breathe!!
Are you a Catalyst customer, aged between 7-25 years and passionate about the environment? Why not join the Green Youth Board? Applications close on Fri 7 Jan to give you that quiet time between Christmas and New Year to complete your application
This was my view from Dollis Hill today. Trellick is visible for miles around, marking out North Kensington on the London skyline.
It is iconic, beautiful, and to surround it with new development would be a great loss to all Londoners, not just those in our community.
Sending off for my postal vote today!!
Elections this May will be the first requiring you to present valid photo ID at the polling station in order to vote - if you don’t have it, register to vote by post! Make sure your voice is heard this May
@TattonLibDems
@ewlibdems
A big massive THANK YOU to everyone who volunteered, donated, and voted to turn Pembridge yellow this week
I’m truly sorry that I couldn’t get us over the line this time, but incredibly proud of everything achieved over the last 8 months 🔶🔶
Some memories: A THREAD
Page from
@catalysthousing
's Traffic Management Plan for Wornington Green. They've submitted a screenshot from Google Maps in lieu of proper research - these cycle lanes have absolutely no bearing on reality!
This is laughable and shows such contempt for residents
No matter how huge the fight may still seem, North Ken will never be beat. We are a community to be reckoned with, and we will live to see justice delivered.
#JusticeForGrenfell
💚
I’ve written to TfL to support the Holland Park Roundabout cycle lane and you should too.
Cyclists are killed in this area, this scheme protects them.
You know what nobody’s ever died of? The loss of less than 100 yards of a third vehicle lane on HPA.
RBKC presenting their proposals on Air Quality, the Climate Emergency, and Biodiversity at The Curve tonight
Very important that we act on the points raised instead of councillors repeatedly ignoring SPDs every time a developer waves a wad of cash…
I’ve wrote to
@jthalassites
last night asking that the consultation period for Phase 3 of Wornington Green be extended
A mammoth 234 (!) documents have been submitted with the application, and it is vital that residents have the time to inform themselves and make comments
Awesome canvass for the last house in Wincham today - Phillip lives in a bit of the village only accessible from Lostock Graham via then this bridge… He was shocked to see anyone had bothered to make the journey ‘and you’re a Lib Dem so that’s even better!’

Very upset to hear about the murder of TKorStretch, which happened outside my home last night.
Any life lost to violence is tragic, but that of a 21 year old is especially hard to comprehend. A life cut short, and an unborn child now orphaned. Sending love to his family 💚
@StopTheMATness
protest tomorrow at 7am!!
Parents have been kept out of decisions at Holland Park - so soon after the awful revelations about institutionalised bullying there… This is the time for MORE parental scrutiny, not for shutting the community out!!
@StopTheMATness
protest this morning outside Holland Park School
Parent voices must be heard as part of a consultation on the future of the school!! It’s wrong to block parent oversight like this, especially after what students have been through in the last few years.
Community Carnival feedback meeting at The Tabernacle tomorrow from 6:30-8pm
For anyone with feedback, concerns, complaints, or compliments for RBKC and Westminster CC about how carnival was managed this year. Open to all, please drop in!
Very sage advice for the many people in RBKC who’s service charge has just been hiked up, but are still getting next to no actual service (maintenance/cleaning)…
After a discussion last night, for leaseholders disputing service charges: A list of things NOT to do. (Do circulate.)
First - the big one - Do not withhold service charge payments. This instantly exposes you to the risk of a money claim against you in the County Court.
1/15
Another near-fatal collision this morning between a cyclist and a HGV at the dangerous intersection of Battersea Bridge and Beaufort St. Police, fire, and ambulance in attendance.
Sending all my love and hoping the cyclist is able to make a full recovery. Stay safe everyone
Thank you SO much
@nkcommunityfood
who delivered this amazing lot today, keeping me fed during isolation
So thankful we have such a supportive and amazing
#community
up here 💚💚
Step off the train home at Crewe and am presented with this work of art!!
@Suzie_AS
you’re killing it 🚲🚶🚶♀️
What I wouldn’t give for this in RBKC…
@betterstreetskc
People aren't against 15 min cities because they don't want shops and schools near - of course people want that - but that isn't the problem
People are against 15 min cities because they don't want to be fined for leaving their area.
Get it into your heads.
Four and a half years since the tragic events at Grenfell Tower. 72+ people murdered by corporate greed and political deafness.
The love and support from this fantastic community has been overwhelming to witness, but the fight is sadly far from over. One day justice will come 💚
Tony (from my waiting for an ambulance story the other week) is doing MUCH better and has finally had visits from a home physio!
He proudly showed me how quickly he can get his leg on the stool now - I was also very proud ☺️
Fantastic evening speaking to residents on Kensington Park Road
Residents furious that this council stood by as the mayor closed our police stations and didn’t fight for our fair share of the 50 new police officers
Join
@kensociety
tomorrow at St John’s if you feel similarly
The most serene part of my deliveries - Dutton Horse Bridge between the locks and Island Farm!
Sadly our current councillors don’t much bother to trouble residents down here… After years of being ignored, there’s lots of people ready for change! 🔶🔶🔶
@savebushmarket
!! It would be criminal to allow the death of Shepherd’s Bush Market. It’s a valuable community asset to all in west London, a market for all which truly serves its local community.
@MayorofLondon
- reject the development plans!
Saw the FANTASTIC cast of
@RenegadeTheatr1
performing The Forgotten Tree today at
@VentureCentre1
. Amazing! These young people are the generation we must fight to protect our trees for!!
Windswept and interesting hair on show in Barnton this evening - thanks to Charlie for joining me on his first ever canvass! Lifelong Conservative voters are telling me they’re ready for change and voting Lib Dem this May 🔶🔶
@StopTheMATness
Something that we’re far to familiar with in the north of the borough…. A meaningful consultation where the community are heard - it’s not too much to ask!!
A ridiculous condition of a 10 yr old planning consent which
@RBKC
and
@catalysthousing
refuse to rethink
Through roads across Wornington will turn residential streets into dangerous rat runs; encouraging car use and further trashing the character of this once tranquil estate

15 MINUTE BLACKOUT
💡 Turn out your lights. Show Putin we’d rather sit in the dark than use his gas and oil
People of Ukraine, you are not alone 🇺🇦
And yet, when campaigning to save the segregated cycle lanes on High St Ken, we were ignored…
@RBKC
’s own traffic study showed that traffic flows had improved since the cycle lane was built, so what possible reason was there for the removal to have happened?
@betterstreetskc
London arrogance?
Fail to understand the notion that by living in the capital you lose the right not to have 60ft corporate insignia seared into your retina every night…
Absolutely stinks of London arrogance.
Huge opportunity to be at the very centre of the future of entertainment, attracting massive investment and visitors from around the world. Offer it to literally any other part of the UK and they'd snap your hand off.
Great to see Active Travel England finally being launched. £2bn to bring London-style walking & cycle infrastructure to the rest of the country. I’m looking forward to working with
@chris_boardman
& team
Very sad to see Grove Fish Bar off today - another amazing, locally run business being pushed out by developers…
If you need furniture then it’s all up for grabs (not the chair IT’S MINE)! If you need dinner then I highly recommend - will miss you guys!!
RBKC needs this… Raised this with residents in common fly-tipping spots in Pembridge last year and many in favour. We have the solution but our council chooses not to think.
Liverpool’s underground system of garbage bins will keep the streets clean and bins from overflowing
In Amsterdam these kinds of bins even have RFID readers to touchlessly unlock the bins, allowing only residents to deposit trash
Barking has trialled this but might it be
Today would have been the 17th birthday of
#BriannaGhey
, who was tragically killed in February this year.
Schools across
#Warrington
will wear pink today in memory of Brianna, and to raise funds for our Peace in Mind campaign.
To donate:
Just in from a cross-party meeting for cycle campaigners tonight - great ideas and lovely people. Thanks
@ToryCycling
and Lab’s Jo Rigby for organising
Who knew that preventing climate catastrophe and stopping people being run over was an apolitical issue?! Someone tell RBKC x
Lovely afternoon in Barnton, then topped it all off with an evening in Comberbach!
Residents are sick and tired of our area being ignored by their councillors and council. From across the political spectrum, people are choosing the Lib Dems to speak up for them this May 💃🔶
Back home today and thinking about my first and best ever MP, Martin Bell
25 yrs on and we’re there again, but instead of just Neil Hamilton it’s an entire govt’s worth of cheats and liars! Maybe us Tattonites might once again have something to say about that 👀
@TattonLibDems
@jthalassites
@RBKC
But the permission for Phase 3 hasn’t been granted yet Johnny?
When
@TreesWornington
and I spoke to Catalyst’s architects a few months ago they said that re-opening through roads on the estate was a condition RBKC had insisted on.
This can be changed!
@JKBartsHeart
Well done to
@westfieldlondon
for THE WORST cycle parking. Round the back, nowhere near either of the entrances, and at the bottom of a flight of stairs 👏👍
NEW: Kate Forbes tells
@Channel4News
she would have voted against equal marriage.
But as First Minister she will not 'row back on rights that already exist.'
The Tories have toured the polling stations, seen the low turnout, and gone home. They thrive on apathy. Don’t let them!! Tell them what you think of this govt and USE YOUR VOTE!
90 mins to go
#LocalElection2023
Got a taxi on Old Brompton Rd earlier. Found a pair of headphones, thought they were mine, pocketed them.
Have since found mine at home... So if you’ve left a pair in a cab in
@RBKC
@LBHF
today DM me
And we’re off! Honoured to be standing alongside two TITANS of local politics in Roy Garton and Annie Makepeace. We’ve already spoken to hundreds of Marbury residents who are ready for change, and will keep fighting to make sure their voices don’t go unheard 🔶🔶
Even by
@FelicityBuchan
standards this beggars belief. An advantage in life of telling the truth is that being consistent is so much easier. Here’s
@rbkc
in 2019 supporting the proposal to make Holland Park roundabout safe. Now opposing it is her biggest ever campaign 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏽♂️🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♀️
Clouds were threatening, but rain didn’t stop play when I was speaking to residents round Ladbroke Road today!
We are all angry with the council for not fighting to protect our police station, and nobody’s buying the new Tory leaflet claiming
@kensociety
’s work as their own…
