@LewisStuff @Khalebyordan Surely that’s either a Wren or a Tapaculo! Convergent evolution for skulky birds on different continents.

@AilinKee Well done Ai-lin. That is indeed Usnea articulata. It used to be very rare in Wales but has increased massively in the last 20 years thanks to declining SO2 pollution. It is now known from >150 sites across South Wales, but Garwnant is new.

My sister has just told me she saw a huge white Egret fly over Dingestow Court Lake this morning. Argh - the first Great White Egret for my home patch and I missed it!

@skwoolley I’ve considered that, but more likely to give up social media entirely. I scarcely look at it now except for a bit of moth news.

@MigrantMothUK 1 Sprawler, 1 December Moth and 1 Feathered Thorn. No migrants. At least I tried, and sorting through the trap didn’t take long!

@GoGeocaching Please can you change the app so AdLabs are filtered out/in along with ‘real’ caches. We all know they are different, but it’s sooo tedious having to scroll down and untick AdLab any time you’re looking for another cache type. It doesn’t make me do more/fewer AdLabs; it’s clunky.

@SteveNash71 @MigrantMothUK Thanks to both you and @dgcountryside. I was getting carried away! Still, my first Radford’s (and I’ve heard that Ian Morgan also got his first Radford’s in Llanelli VC44 last night) is a glimmer of good news for the morning

@ArfonWilliams4 @MigrantMothUK My recheck only produced a Scarce Bordered Straw - you were in the path of the moths yet again!

@Jamiewa50042387 @BBSbryology I think that’s Physcomitrella patens, with visible capsules (they are largely hidden by the leaves in Acaulon) and large leaf cells. The inundated habitat fits that species too. Sorry

@SEWBReC They have definitely declined in my home in Dingestow VC35. I saw them a couple of times last year and was genuinely pleased. I’ve never seen a Firebrat though - that really is a dream species!

Pygmy Skipper (short hairs on base of hindwing costa) yesterday and Millet Skipper (hyaline spots on forewing) - two exciting new butterflies for me in the Kassiopi area of Corfu.
