So Twitter has again changed the format of the video to a one that is not supported by iOS. I might have to create a new version of the shortcut or even change how the entire thing works altogether! 😔

TVDL 4 should be working again 🥳but this unfortunately marks the end of TVDL 3.1.
Twitter made some unannounced changes again and this means that TVDL 3.1 is now kaput.
It was good while it lasted. 🫡
I am aware of the problems with TVDL. Working on a fix ASAP.

It’s been 20 days since I launched TVDL 4 and the response has been overwhelming. 🚀
In 20 days, TVDL has served over 2 million requests. 😱
However, any day now, Twitter can shut down TVDL and it will be the end. ☹️
I’ll try and keep the lights on until that happened tho. ✌️

TVDL is experiencing intermittent problems thanks to Elon Musk. Twitter as a platform is very unstable. Even after paying $42000 per month, you get nothing, no support from Twitter Dev.
I’m working on a workaround. Hopefully, after this there will be some stability.

I know that the constant donation prompts are a big hassle. But now with skyrocketing costs there’s no way to sustain the shortcut without donations.
Even today, the shortcut isn’t exactly “profitable”. I have to cover costs to run the shortcut from my own pockets.

Hard disagree. Windows Phone's tile interface was actually useful even though Microsoft never let it achieve its full potential. It was peak mobile UI.
All we have now is rows and rows of icons.
controversial design opinion:
Windows Phone was never a good UI. People at the time claimed that iOS’s heavy visual effects and skeuomorphism got in the way of actual usability, but this is FAR less usable.
Visually overwhelming, impossible to scan and downright unfriendly.

Turns out, Twitter is limiting access to the tweets because so many people are using the shortcut. I’ve added some more context to the error messages so you shouldn’t be seeing empty error messages now.
