My Dad is a methadone user who broke his hip last night. He is in the hospital and needs his methadone. His pain is intense. He is going through withdrawal. They won't give him his *prescribed* methadone until he sees an addictions team.

When the addictions team meets with him, they will ask him about his entire drug use history, reasons for using, etc.
Retraumatizing methadone users, making them jump through hoops like this is discriminatory, cruel abd common.
Why are methadone users put through this?

An update: my Dad is out of surgery and feeling better. He got his methadone and is on a more human level of opioids for pain (that still wasn't enough though).

While some push that it is a democratic entity, I want people to know this: the Provincial Executive has been designed to serve the perceived needs of the Party and the Premier's Office.
