Average gross margins in the restaurant sector are incredibly slim, if a restaurant this popular (very) in a town like Knaresborough (affluent) can go under, then I dread to think what will happen to the sector when employers NI increases in April - Labour have got this so wrong.

I always wonder whether the conversion of Polytechnics into Universities in 1992, and the qualifications becoming Level 6 rather than Level 5, actually resulted in substantially more course content & contact time. Normalising accelerated/condensed 2-year degrees might be one solution to tackling the rising cost of study?

Really enjoyable time at @joewellscomic's King of the Autistics gig at @Henshaws last night, really thought provoking at times though as the parents of a child who is newly diagnosed. Hope you tour the next one in Knaresborough Joe, we'd be back.

@cottonmouthmcr Indeed. However, I don't support that either, I value personal liberty. I'm in a weird place at the moment, politically homeless. That said, I am reliable informed that there are means to consume cannabis without tobacco😂

@BBCLookNorth If this comes to fruition then Bob Buxton of the Yorkshire Party deserves a lot of the credit for this, he put a WY mass transit system at the front and centre of two successive West Yorks mayoral campaigns.

I'm taking a step back from politics to pursue postgrad study & resigning from the YP. But if this comes to fruition then @BobBuxtonYorksP and the @Yorkshire_Party deserve full credit for putting a Mass Transit system at the front and centre of successive WY Mayoral campaigns.

Exactly. Birth rate is currently below the replacement rate. The right seem to adopt the paradoxical view that we should halt immigration, and yet take no steps to increase the birth rate; presumably banking on robots to give them a sponge bath in their nursing homes in 2050.
@sophielouisecc I will need other people's children to be economically productive taxpayers for when I'm eventually too useless to do anything but draw my pension. It makes a world of sense to me I'd be paying taxes now to make it viable for people in the their 20s/30s to actually have children.

@VoteAndyBrown There should also be quotas in place which dictate that the big developers have to build on X hectares of brownfield land for every Y hectares of arable land they are granted permission to develop. Simple quid pro quo.

It has taken me 4 days to stop feeling seriously sleep-deprived after being stuck at the count until past 6am on Friday morning, but thanks to the 627 people who voted for me last Thursday. Disappointing results for the YP pretty much across the board, a full strategic review needed, do we need to fight Parliamentary elections? Mayorals can provide a more cost effective platform to the reach the whole electorate & state the case for One Yorkshire devolution.

@elaine_hx_green @BobBuxtonYorksP @Yorkshire_Party We know. But it's not a Yorkshire Party exclusive issue though I'm afraid, in the three constituencies covered by the Stray Ferret (Harrogate area) there is 1 female candidate out of 18. It needs a major inquiry/review/study really.
