Had a great time going on Odd Lots and talking automation in snack food production with Joe and Tracy.
NEW ODD LOTS: Why right now we’re living in the golden age of snack food. @tracyalloway and I had a fascinating chat with food manufacturing expert @ryanharlan about the technological breakthroughs that enabled this Cambrian Explosion of chip flavors.

@devahaz This is where I landed. Eagles blowout like the Bucs Super Bowl. But I may be predicting with my heart.

One of my old online poker buddies lived in England and had me ship him the American versions of some cereals and candies he had when he was out here because even if he could find the brand it wasn’t the same version.
it's weird visiting american grocery stores because you'll just stumble across famous products you recognize and they're often just shelved in the store like any other product, no fanfare ran into this one while visiting nyc in 2011

As someone who makes most of my paycheck from winery automation I will say the biggest quality jump is from bottom shelf to middle shelf. Don’t trust wines that always taste the same year after year (exception made for champagne).
I asked a friend who's been in the wine business for decades at what price wine quality is within a percent or two of the asymptote. He said £250 ($300). Beyond that you're just paying for brand.

@mihirpshah I describe it like Indianapolis to a lot of people actually. They’re about the same size and from my time in Indy feel a lot alike.

@TheStalwart @jetson_econ My wife works in healthcare compliance (trying to find and prevent this kind of fraud). There are a lot of software products hitting the market but the rules are so specific by service area there isn’t a single tool for them yet.

@Bonecondor I just had one last week that was like $50 with insurance and I think they quoted like ~$250 without.

@jaycaspiankang I guess the flip side is if you don't make much you can't necessarily afford to just resign suddenly.
