@pmarca So you're telling me that there are not problems that would be helped by $1 trillion? I assume that for someone like Musk the ambitions scale up with wealth.

@lulumeservey Following "genuinely curious" with this statement kinda undermines the word "genuinely." Not that I disagree with the conclusion!

@ReapCapital @Zac_Petkanas According to the CDC, the U.S. saw a 14.5% decrease in overdose deaths from June 2023 through June 2024. So ... I wouldn't be surprised if you're right, but the trend line is already there.

@paulg Without attribution or data I think you'd realize this useless. Some person thinks this? Cool. Even better known tech CEO told me the Democratic elite loves all voters.

@swaaanson Superficial analyses drive me crazy. This is how founders ended up Jobsing in mock turtlenecks. How to explain the companies that keep "crushing" with totally different recipes. It's almost like these aren't the substantial reasons!

Thinking through similarities between crypto & AI industries: - Divisive POVs: save world / destroy world - Regulatory Limbo - Trust Challenged - Evolving Foundations: fundamental new tech & science + new problems, not new solutions to old problems on existing tech - Nascent Productization: everything trap of broad promise, needs focus over coming months / years. What else?

@deanbphillips @X I buy this but curious what you do to understand the other half @deanbphillips? And, follow up, should we discourage this half from dismissing everything not aligned with their worldview as woke / lamestream / elite / etc? You know, to foster understanding of others?

@ayyyeandy Few problems I've seen hiring 4 growth roles: - Not distinguishing between growth in product vs marketing. Roles in both do complementary jobs. They want a chimera. - Unattainable goals not based on empiricism or reason.

@BostonByBirth @Bakari_Sellers "people trump trusts" seems to be doing some heavy work in this explanation ...
