It's a crime, a mistake, stupidity and treason, all wrapped in one. My heart is with Ukrainians and with those in Russia who stands against this war

Very interesting. Eg "the Ukraine issue was hardly even discussed at an important Geneva summit in June 2021" (Woodward reported that the priority was cyber...). Also, did the US really send Nuland to Moscow in October 2021 to talk about Ukraine?

Sullivan rejected Putin’s 2021 offer for U.S.-Russia counterterrorism cooperation in Central Asia without follow-up. A chance for dialogue dismissed outright—yet another diplomatic failure. #UkraineRussiaWar

The thing is, nuclear energy is anything but cheap

For too long, the blockers and Nimbys have strangled our chances of cheaper energy, growth and jobs, leaving us hostage to Putin. I'm putting an end to it. We are changing the rules on nuclear to deliver cleaner, more affordable energy across the UK.

@lllib @ond144 So, was Moscow safer with missile defense? Not really. But that's not the main problem. The point is that in the nuclear context your missile defense cannot improve your policy position. Say, North Korea - it only needs a theoretical possibility of hitting the US. 2/2

@lllib @ond144 It's not "relying on not having one." It should be understanding that one cannot have one. These are different things.

@ond144 That's the flaw in the argument. You don't want to get to the "nukes start flying" point. You have no way of knowing if your defense is "almost perfect" (it's probably not). And if you convinced yourself that it is, you more easily get into "nukes flying" business

I am extremely skeptical of these reports. Absolutely not clear what's the source of the claim. More importantly, in November Oreshnik was used to make a statement (in response to "long-range strikes"). I don't see it's launched out of the blue

@OxanaShevel @meduza_en @meduzaproject I believe they acted fairly quickly (see attached). I didn't follow it that closely but knowing Meduza a bit I have hard time imagining that they tried to keep it.
