This doesn’t surprise me at all. Ole was my grandma’s favourite player & when she was ill I wrote to Utd asking if Ole could send her a photo. Not only did he send a signed photo but he also sent an amazing letter. I found the photo recently, unfortunately the letter is lost. 😔

I grew up having him & Bryan Robson as my heroes. Was an unbelievable player for us. Still to this day I’ve never seen a player so good at holding the ball up & bringing others in to this game. I remember Neil Ruddock calling him a “freak of nature” because he could not be moved.

Come on Curtis mate! Keane was unquestionably a better leader & better tackler. More importantly his game management was far superior. Gerrard was Hollywood ball after Hollywood ball. So many of which came to nothing. Keane passed through the lines brilliantly & controlled games.

Probably averaged 4 good games a season. Was a world record fee. Left for nothing. Faked injuries. Workrate was probably 1.5/10 per game. Terrible terrible signing. Worst part is that the guy could be a top 5 player in the world based on talent, just isn’t willing to do the graft

Similar level to Blackburn in 94/95. Punched above their weight and won the title with some very average players. Didn’t compete in any of the other cups but did brilliantly to win the league. Decent side but nowhere near those that won multiple trophies in the same season.
