As a freelancer, I juggle multiple clients. If I get cut by one, I still have others & can pick up more. If an employee tied to one company gets cut, they have nothing.

Yeah, it did actually. When I left a stagnant wage at a corporate job in 2016 and made more as a freelancer the following year. As a journalist, I might write a story once-a-week for a client, but I don't want to be their "employee" -- because I have other clients too.
