@MaxBeretta10818 @gpasley @THEChrisKessell @USLLeagueTwo Tinkering needs to be to a minimum. Let the lads play and whichever club gets player x or y' will have that talent. MLS has always run the league with its thumb on the scale and it shows.

@gpasley @MaxBeretta10818 @THEChrisKessell @USLLeagueTwo Start times can balance much of the East v West issues. It remains entirely hypothetical anyway, but agree, not impossible. Still we have to emphasize, with an open pyramid, population of the given club's hometown is arbitrary. The match on the pitch is the deciding factor.

@gpasley @THEChrisKessell @USLLeagueTwo As for the East v West, that would be an extreme case, neglecting the larger markets in Denver, Texas (3 or 4!), St Louis, Chicago... They would quickly and easily have sides that are on par. And players can be signed from anywhere. They aren't local only once you enter pro tiers

@gpasley @THEChrisKessell @USLLeagueTwo Fair point! Our gracious thread host has posted a couple of great proposals that would use regional qualifying for all but the top tier or two.

@THEChrisKessell @USLLeagueTwo Imagine an American Soccer system with no territory rights! It's beautiful!

@THEChrisKessell @USLLeagueTwo Widen their base into those smaller underserved, undervalued, markets first. Think the old NBA model. But then they really open the tap with promotion and an almost TST zeal of taking on all comers into lower divisions.

@gpasley @THEChrisKessell @USLLeagueTwo They're watching their local team. Because it's right there. It didn't fold because it was relegated or lost a promotion playoff. And the supporters know they're part of a larger interconnected system. All pulling in the same directio for one cause. Sport, not a millionaire owner

@ManagerTactical Without #ProRelForUSA, tiers really are irrelevant. @USL_HQ, @NewMexicoUTD ! Make this work. Be the seeds that open the pyramid!

@THEChrisKessell @USL_HQ If (when... PLEASE!) USL institutes #ProRelForUSA, MLS will be the one asking to be included. And here I add again, @USL_HQ would be more successful as the steward of an open pyramid for @ussoccer than trying to continue failing as a closed, overprotected, system.
