In a vacuum there are a number of QBs better than Brady. Brady has benefitted from playing under a genius coach with great offensive weapons, etc..but on tools, I’d say many guys have better physical tools than Brady does. Brady has has the best career, but is not the best QB
Pretty cool moment seeing the
#BlueJays
draft Braden Halladay. Halladay will pitch for Penn State next year but nevertheless a really classy gesture by the Jays

NOW AVAILABLE!
💻I have decided to sell the script to my Pitch Design app.
📈Compare your pitcher's FB velocity and spin rate data to pitchers on the MLB level.
Use it to help refine your pitcher's arsenal over the offseason!

If a coach stops recruiting you because you happen to have a girlfriend/boyfriend, that coach is probably not someone you’d want to play for.
Crazy how Justin Verlander, Max Scherzer, and David Price all pitched on the same team at one point.
What’s crazier is that that team choked and got swept in the playoffs by the Baltimore Orioles.
I am very proud to announce that my first publication, a systematic review on the manifestation of fatigue in baseball pitchers, can now be found on
@thePeerJ
! A special thank you to
@HolmesLab
and
@DrMikeSonne
for all of their help throughout the process!
It’s unfair to see how much hate
@MStrooo6
gets from
#BlueJays
fans.
If I’m a manager I love seeing my starter not wanting to give up a ball. Dudes a competitor, hates to lose, and wants to be on the mound. You want that on your team. Love seeing that fire.

Hi friends,
Here are some post-trade deadline numbers:
Stroman: 4.91 ERA, 5.19 FIP, 25K/12BB

Biagini: 5.19 ERA, 6K/5BB
Meanwhile, SWR is lighting up High-A as an 18 yo and Anthony Kay has a 1.89 ERA in Buffalo with 36 Ks/33.1 IP
Couple of exciting announcements!
First off, myself,
@HolmesLab
and
@DrMikeSonne
have published our systematic review on the manifestation of fatigue in pitchers in

Secondly, in September, I will be joining
@The__BDG
as Pitch Design Engineer!
Long drive back to Canada ahead, not ideal circumstances but we will be back and I’m really excited for Texas Rangers baseball to get going again 🤘🏻stay safe y’all!
For 2 years, I worked for a startup as a scouting director.
What I’ll remember most from the experience is the number of great people that I was able to meet & work with. Close to 30 of those people have secured MLB & other baseball jobs. Very proud of everyone I’ve work with!
Very proud of all of the guys & girls over at
@EvolutionMetrix
for an incredible year! Altogether, we have reported on 426 of the 1200 drafted players (36% & up from 26% last year). Solid team effort & a big thank you to every contributing scout & regional supervisor!
#MLBDraft
Making good progress on my study. Two force plates embedded into an indoor mound with EMG and full body motion capture. Had a pitcher come in today to throw off the mound. Working towards validating the pitching mechanics tools!
🚨 New Episode of Pitching to Contact! 🚨
A can't miss episode with special guest Kyle Boddy (
@drivelinebases

Lots of great discussion on the work Driveline does and how the game of ⚾️ is quickly changing!

Today was my last day as Scouting Director of
@EvolutionMetrix
. I am so proud of all we have accomplished over the past 2 years. I have learned a lot & have been able to meet so many great people in the game of baseball. Opportunities that I will never take for granted.
How will this app help us at
@The__BDG
with our pitch design program?
1) Find comparable MLB pitchers (in terms of FB velo/SR/handedness/arm slot)
2) Analyze Baseball Savant data to see what makes said MLB pitcher successful
3) Refine our pitcher’s stuff based on objective data
Impressive couple of rounds of BP last night from Blake Buckle (
@OntarioBlueJays
). Easy bat speed, great control of the barrel. Can really swing it from the left side!
Over the past two years at
@BrockUniversity
, I have been able to do some incredible baseball research alongside my co-supervisors
@HolmesLab
and
@DrMikeSonne
, and
@rbench24
.
Really cool to see a story which talks about the work we do!
@jonah_fleisher
@MLB
It has nothing to do with the Orioles. It’s that the Astros, for as good as they already are, keep pumping out studs from their farm left, right and centre
A quick look at my graduate school research at Brock University. After labeling my pitchers in Vicon Nexus, I export the files into Visual 3D where I can analyze kinematics, including joint moments
After completing my Masters, I had the opportunity to work at
@The__BDG
. I learned a lot over the past few months from both coaches and players. Special thank you to
@drsosterer
for the opportunity to learn more about the game and letting me throw 62 mph off the mound.
I hope I’m not in the minority, but the energy that
@MStrooo6
is second to none. Love his vibe and his competitiveness. Hope he remains in the city for a long time repping the
@BlueJays
Very few athletes have ever truly embraced playing in Canada like Stro.
Great interview 💯
@BauerOutage
@NIUlive
@MLB
While that is horrible and there’s no place for that type of stuff, can we give a shout out to the grandma who can make blind catches, because that is impressive
Congratulations to all the Canadians who have heard their names get called during this year’s
#MLBDraft
and to all who will hear their names get called on Day 3. Keep growing the game up north! 🇨🇦
@baseballcanada
Toronto sports record (Raptors, Leafs, Blue Jays) before and after Vladdy’s call-up (W-L-T-OTL):
Pre Call-up:
7,158-7,185-783-158, 46.8% winning percentage
Post call-up:
4-0, 100% winning percentage

First Canadian off the board! 🇨🇦
Congrats to Dasan Brown of the
@OntarioBlueJays
! Real athletic kid with plus speed and outstanding range in the outfield. Bat has come a long way over the past couple years too!
#MLBDraft
Uncommitted, class of 2012, plus bat speed, only hit dingers, probably should’ve done better on my SATs, looking for D1 offers only.
80 grade bat flips.
Continuing to make progress on my thesis study. Approaching the half way point of my collection process. Working towards validating my pitching mechanics tool using full body motion capture as well as EMG and force plate data.
@BrockUniversity
Had my first official subject for my study throw 30 pitches off an indoor mound today with EMG and full-body motion capture. Continuing to make forward progress!
Had a chance to write about the direction player development in the game of baseball is headed in.
A big thank you to
@ari_shapiro
for giving me the opportunity to write for his website. Give the story a read! ⬇️
Myself and
@DrMikeSonne
are looking to develop a predictive model for future TJ Surgery using our Pitching Mechanics Tool.
We analyzed the kinematics of 15 MLB pitchers who have undergone TJ Surgery & 15 healthy comparables at lead foot strike
@The__BDG
Fun stat of the night:
@Raptors
record before I moved to the US: 25-14
Raptors record since I moved to the US: 12-0
Don’t argue it, it’s science. You’re welcome.
I lived without WiFi at my new place in Arlington since last Friday.
Today, I finally got it installed. I have survived.
Big win for Millennials. I will not be taking any further questions at this time.
About a week into learning how to code in R, starting to work on creating a shiny app for pitch design.
Despite nearly attempting to whip my laptop across the room every now and then, things aren’t going that bad💪🏻
Over the past month, I've enjoyed learning how to code in R and have been able to develop a shiny app which will be used as a resource for
@The__BDG
pitch design program.
Starting to test out the process now and receiving feedback on the application. Really exciting stuff!
One of the things I've focused on during this entire global pandemic/quarantine was to improve at coding.
I worked through a short course on R Shiny over the weekend and can confirm it was a great learning experience!
The Winter Meetings are one of my favourite times of the year to learn about the industry, meet new people and catch up with old friends. Definitely going to miss it this year.
One of the best parts about working in baseball is seeing the kids that you’ve scouted since they were 15-16 years old get drafted. Being there to witness their growth through the years and projecting what they will become. The
#MLBDraft
is one of the best times of the year!
2018 was an awesome year. I got to meet & work with some of the most incredible people, and continue to grow as an individual. Working in baseball is a blessing that I never take for granted. 2019 will be bigger & better!
Happy New Year everyone!
86 days until Opening Day.
Yesterday, I successfully defended my masters thesis. I would like to thank my two supervisors
@HolmesLab
and
@DrMikeSonne
for all the help & guidance that they have given me over the past two years. My time at
@BrockUniversity
has been challenging, rewarding & most of all, fun!
Yesterday, I got my first car. I named it Bo.
Bo Bichette hit two home runs off one of the greatest pitchers ever later that day.
Coincidence? I think not.
Today, I attended my 1st ever championship parade.
It was an amazing experience which was tarnished by a horrible shooting (4 injured), only a few meters away from me at Nathan Phillips Square. A terrible way to conclude what was a monumental day for Toronto. We must be better!
In present day, the real arms race in baseball is happening on the player development level.
This is one of the best baseball books I’ve read & definitely recommend it to anyone interested in learning more about what is going on in the game today
