If people with a brain actually sat down and calculated what they’ve paid out of pocket in the US for their ins vs what they would have to pay in taxes for a healthcare system that covered all citizens they’d be shocked at how much less they would have paid.
@realjdbreen
@Rothmus
Yes, they were the same people who didn’t buy the 1/3 pounder burger in the 70s because they thought the quarter pounder was bigger.

Let’s not forget to ask for term limits. Serving for life sounds a little bit too monarchal to me and frankly I’m shocked that’s been allowed to stand for as long as it has given everything else has term limits

@samjcohn
One of the hugest misconceptions is that all doctors are wealthy. This is not the 80s. You realize a giant chunk of health care dollars goes to admin, don’t you?
@sahagertyxo
@sarahshaver_
Don’t ever say “only” when referring to your job. If they have none of you guys there, their jobs become magnitudes more difficult. You’re the glue that holds those places together to keep it running
@KILLTOPARTY
Dated a girl whose previous lover was hung and unbeknownst to me was rendezvousing with him every so often while we were dating. I bid my farewell and have not looked back. Can’t make a girl something she’s not, no matter how much you may wish it otherwise
@thanh_neville
Funny how the only people who aren’t quitting in droves (seemingly) are the health care administrators. We never talk about administrator burnout do we?

@TheHoustonWade
How about this? Make loans for college interest free or devise a system where some service in the public sector goes toward paying down those loans.
@foreverpremed1
I tell you this as a physician, find a love of fintech and pursue a career there. You’ll make a shit ton more money and have a better quality of life. Like the Mens Wearhouse guy says “I guarantee it”.
@TIMEHealth
I read somewhere that this virus essentially wipes out the “memory cells”, so our immune systems are intact but they’re in essence “starting over”
@PoleDoctress
Let me give you a piece of advice to somebody who has been a physician for over 20 years. There will be some peoples mind you cannot change, and that is an hour you cannot get back.
@fuzzymittens
@hospital_adm
Have no doubt that hospital admin take full advantage of our altruism and our willingness to take it on the nose to serve patients

A difficult thing to fix in a country where the citizenry doesn’t place a value on education, plus a culture of predatory lending to keep people in perpetual debt. We need scholars and STEM people as much as we need electricians and laborers.
@ReketVeg7
@Darlainky
I’m sure people who find themselves in abusive marriages wholeheartedly agree with you. I’d counteroffer and suggest we should make getting married more difficult.
@CBSNews
So we traded a Russian arms dealer who was convicted in federal court of conspiracy to kill US citizens for an anti-American sentiment basketball player who was arrested for possession of hashish oil. Seems to me Russia made out on this deal.
@DrPayItBack
For context, my FP salary last year was $219k. My interventional radiologist buddy made $930k, with 20 weeks paid vacation. Sorry, my violin just popped a string for you.

@DogginTrump
What’s going to happen here is when some of this stuff starts to take shape, the people that voted for Trump will be like “oh wait I didn’t think he meant me!” and by the time they figure it out it’ll be too late.
@theRNbiologist
Same thing I see in medicine as a doctor. I see 30 year veterans still using amitriptyline as their go to antidepressant. Conversely I have 30 year vets quote me studies from conferences they just attended.
@MSharifpourMD
@theRNbiologist
As a physician I wholeheartedly agree. If the worry was unfounded, it’s a good teaching opportunity. If it was founded, everyone will be glad you checked, especially the patient!
