@thesmudgerman @timmys_tears @ScotRail @NetworkRailGLC Platforms don't get posted until need for a variety of reasons; Changes of platform, other trains occupying the same platform, security requirements, etc.

@timmys_tears @ScotRail @NetworkRailGLC There's a lot of factors at play here; - are the platforms occupied with another train before it? - are the inbound trains running late? Most train are advertised 20mins before here and all companies try their best to to do that. But when they don't, at the soon possible time.

@KingoftheSandy @ScotRail @NetworkRailGLC Equivalent average figures based on historical patterns and service history. I understand, this is the reality of the railway we have in the UK. Though the good news is we're getting better at reducing the risk. But it's still there. :)

@KingoftheSandy @ScotRail @NetworkRailGLC The risk to passengers at the Platform Train Interface (PTI) is equivalent to nearly 13 fatalities each year, and 48% of the total passenger fatality risk on the mainline railway network.

One of the most upsetting strategies from the East Coast team is to utilise the 800 (famous for unbelievably uncomfortable ride quality) on a key national route, thereby degrading the attraction of rail as a whole; MK4s are superbly comfortable, we want them back.
Hard to think this was just six years ago! It feels like a lifetime since Class 91s ran to Edinburgh.

This has, obviously resulted in a large-scale success, but you would think that this ultimately proves that the railway in it entirety in GB, needs whole-cloth reform for fairer fares?
We were inundated with bookings here @northernassist for the #GreatBritishRailSale 2025 which closed this week. 57,000 tickets were booked, almost double that of 2024’s sale. We look forward to welcoming you aboard, just one of the big @railway200 celebratory events this year!
