Potential mass graves in Seanrossabbey mother and baby home. Survey carried out by TST Engineers. Unusual 20mtr drainage pipe. Yellow circles of spread anomalies. Small squares of potential mass graves. Blue marks evidence of man-made excavation and anomalies.

Well done to all involved in the launch of the report of Crack Cocaine use in Ballymun today. Particularly Criostoir Mac Cionnaith & Dr Laura O'Reilly for their extensive research into crack which highlighted important issues that urgently need addressing.
I have been quite on this issue & left feeling sick to my stomach since the decision by the

for a diversion scheme.
To implement punitive policies to an acknowledged health care issue shows how removed our leaders are.
Brick wall.
Well done Ballymun & all involved in setting a precedence in sending out a clear message that recovery is not only possible but visibly making it accessible to the people of Ballymun over the month of Sept.

It's ignorance or a lack of understanding that addiction is not a choice. For ppl to stop taking drugs, there has to be a reward. And the reward has to be greater than the drug itself. Sometimes the reward can be as simple as compassion.
@rachael_keogh
@AodhanORiordain
Sad that there are ppl in this country, many who should know better, who still peddle the nonsense that decrim will increase drug use and 'sends out the wrong message'.
Have to say

Haunting & memorable.

Wise words from Christy Moore about separating the criminality aspect from the addict/alcoholic and dealing with them with more care & compassion.

Irish folk legend Christy Moore backs the

The government gave funding to the 'We are still here group' to have a geophysical scan done of Seanrossabbey Mother & Baby Home yesterday. The Commission were not transparent to the survivors about their initial scans done in 2019. Further violation of a right to truth & justice
Nearly crying watching these guys rehearse their recovery song and spoken word.
Powerful stuff.

I just don't understand how a caution by the Gardai or diversion onto some place that doesn't exist (19 in patient detox beds, worn out drug services) is an acceptable solution to drug sanctions.
I mean if prison is not a deterrent, how will a caution be? 🤔
A helpful hand to get you off the hook if your a recreational drug user or have money basically.
How can you apply 3 strikes and your criminalised to addiction given the fact that it's a repeating cycle?
And I'm...
Large anomalies found in Seanrossabbey mother and baby home. 20 meters by 2 meters and smaller ones everywhere.
The state scanned same area in 2019 and are saying that they are unaware of new findings.
Full investigation needed and questions need answering.

We have evidence of potential mass graves found in one of Irelands most notorious mother and baby home's. Seanrossabbey where 1090 babies perished there. The silence and lack of coverage says it all!!

Giving 796 babies proper burials and memorials shouldn't need new legislation. The Canadians excavated the children that they found immediately and gave them proper burials.

I really think that the committee have an ethical obligation now to do what was recommended over 40 years ago by the working party which was that ‘persons who have become dependent on drugs ... should be regarded as sick people in need of medical care'

Anyone interested in checking out AA for yourself or family member or friend. This is a good chance to suss it out with AA doing it's first open meeting in Ballymun.
Delighted this is happening as its really needed for ppl to understand more what it's about.
Let's be honest, if we go with a desuasion scheme not only will we continue to view drug users as criminals but we will be subjecting drug users to all sorts of coercion & being used as bait by the Gardai.

It seems to me that this diversion scheme only applies to the recreational drug user who a caution might divert from drugs. What about people like me who need treatment? Where will they be diverted to
@LeoVaradkar
My question to
@LeoVaradkar
is where exactly are we diverting people who use drugs to? Because the red tape to access an impatient detox bed makes it near impossible as there are only 19 to 18.000+ opioid users. This is a human rights issue.
