I may lose followers for this but I’ll likely be voting Ontario Liberal this election. I like A LOT of their policies, and while they may be imperfect I think they are addressing the issues that matter most to me. This may change, but that’s how it is for now.
I’m sorry. I tried. I cannot physically vote for the Liberal Party of Canada in the next election, no matter who their leader is. I have tried to be open minded, but they are so openly corrupt I cannot support them. I’m out.
It seems people may be confused about Pierre Poilievre's policies, or unable to find them. So, I decided to put together a thread of all the policies he has released during this leadership campaign. Share this as you please. 🧵1/
Hot take: a lot of the policies being unveiled by the Ontario Liberals are specifically designed to get people talking about them, so that more people learn about them as well as learn about Del Duca. And it’s working.
WOW: Pierre Poilievre, the new leader of the Conservative Party, shuts down a Global News reporter David Akin who interrupted his speech.
"What we have here is a Liberal heckler," Poilievre remarked.

He is only eligible to *apply* for day parole, which does not mean he will be accepted. Paul Bernardo applied as well, but was rejected for obvious reasons - it’s extremely likely Pickton will be denied as well. The Supreme Court ruled that everyone shall eventually be eligible
2. Pierre would implement a Pay-As-You-Go Law requiring the government find a dollar of savings for each new dollar of spending. He would scrap the carbon tax, as well as payroll tax hikes. He would remove red tape on many industries. Source: 3/
6. Pierre would link federal grants to universities on the requirement that they uphold section 2 of the Charter with regard to free speech, assembly, thought, and peaceful association. Source:

10. Pierre would sell 15% of 37,000 federal buildings to convert into affordable housing and requiring municipal politicians who want more infrastructure money to approve more housing permits faster without excess fees and red tape. Source: 11/
After 7 years of Trudeau, it is now impossible for most to afford their first home.
We must remove the gatekeepers and reverse Trudeau’s inflationary spending & taxes so people can afford homes again.
4. Pierre would "propose a long-term supply deal with Germany and other European allies to supply their countries with natural gas, break their dependence on Putin, and do our part to tip the scales in Ukraine’s favour." Source: 5/
17. Pierre would lower payroll taxes and income taxes. Pierre would cap government spending. Pierre would reform the tax system by consulting with economists, business people, and accountants. Pierre would simplify the tax codes. Source: 18/
11. Pierre would consult First Nations and provide them with paycheques and give quick decisions on energy projects, and commit to doubling Newfoundland and Labrador’s oil production. Source: 12/
7. Pierre would list the IRGC as a terrorist organization, pursue the PS752 case at the International Criminal Court, impose Magnitsky Sanctions on all regime agents responsible for rocketing PS752 out of the sky, and pass Human Shields Legislation. 8/

Curtis only reports the polls, he doesn’t make them or conduct them. If you clicked on the original Tweet, you’d see it’s a poll from Abacus Data which is a reliable pollster.
13. Pierre would incentivize provinces and territories to require occupational licensing bodies to decide whether to grant an immigrant a license to work in their trade or profession within 60 days of getting the application. Source: 14/
Wow, the Bloc is absolutely slamming the Liberal/NDP agreement right now -- Did not expect that, but good for them for standing up for what they believe.
15. Pierre would empower professionals and tradespeople waiting to immigrate to Canada to work on getting their credentials before they arrive. He would implement additional study loans for new Canadians who need to up skill to get licensed in their fields. Source: above. 16/
This is a HUGE deal, by the way. Regardless of your political views, you should be concerned about this. We talk about US elections worrying about fair elections when we have this happening in our own country.
Canada-China:
Globe and Mail reports China tried to influence Canada's 2021 federal election to secure a Liberal minority government
Chinese diplomatic staff boasted about defeating Conservative candidates
@RobertFife
is the G&M Ottawa Bureau Chief
CPCers will eat this up, but as someone still intending to vote for the CPC I hate this. It’s immature, unprofessional, and un-PrimeMinisterial. Do better.
CPC Leader Pierre Poilievre got kicked out of the House of Commons for a back and forth with the speaker, after calling the PM a “whacko.”
CPC MP Rachael Thomas was kicked out earlier for calling the speaker a disgrace

Immigration Minister Marc Miller calls the Canadian Language requirements "onerous" and "must be changed."
The Trudeau Liberal government is planning to lower English or French language proficiency when applying for work permits or permanent residency to Canada.
Thoughts?
I am being honest, and bipartisan when I say this — if Trudeau does not remove him from caucus or he does not resign, then the NDP MUST pull out of the CASA agreement and force an election. This is beyond unacceptable and the government deserves to fall over this.
@Captaincoby00
To be fair, that's not a good argument to make because Trudeau, Obama, and Joe Biden all did the same thing decades ago as well. People change. I'm not a fan of PP, but this is a weak argument.
So, what’s the straw that breaks the camel’s back for the NDP-Lib agreement to end? Does Trudeau have to shoot someone on Sussex Drive for this to happen? Genuinely, what the fuck will it take?
I get you’re an Atheist but this is historically inaccurate. Even Atheist historians agree that Jesus as a person existed. Even in Islam they talk about him. He’s also documented in secular sources outside of the Bible. He existed, at least as a person.
Dislike Poilievre all you want, but if you make ANY excuses for what was said about Poilievre's wife or claim that he "reaped what he sowed", I will instantly block you without hesitation.
That is all, have a nice day.

Ahh yes, suburban white liberals telling me to “use public transportation” instead of complaining about gas prices is the epitome of why the Ontario Liberals got demolished and why other Liberal parties will continue to in the future if this keeps up. Quick thread: (1/3)
Turns out it was
@davidakin
who heckled Pierre Poilievre at his conference today. Shameful, usually Akin is a decent reporter. Unprofessional.
@globalnews
Pierre Poilievre comments on the issue of biologically male individuals participating in women's sports and accessing women's change rooms and bathrooms. "Female spaces should be exclusively for females... not for biological males."

What message will work with voters, you decide:
“PeePee is PooPoo”
OR
“I will make housing affordable and cut taxes, reduce the debt, and put violent offenders in prison”
Pierre Poilievre’s politics of anger and division won’t lead to solutions for Canadians – it would only move us backward.
While he brings home far-right American-style politics, we’ll continue to focus on Canadians.
