Apropos of my earlier tweet, here's Elinor Ostrom wishing she had been allowed to take more math in high school.
"In high school, I was kept out of math because I was a girl." Elinor Ostrom overcame many obstacles to become a economist and scientist and in 2009 she became the first woman to be awarded the prize in economic sciences. Ostrom was awarded the 2009 prize in economic sciences “for her analysis of economic governance, especially the commons.” #NobelPrize

Students: don't miss out. Economics will help you understand the world better. It will help you change it. And it will help you make better life decisions. You don't need to do it at school to do it at uni. I didn't, and I've done OK. Don't let Ross's jaded view intimidate you.
