I call the O1/EB1 visa a 'good lawyer' visa. The requirements are often ridiculous, fueling an industry that charges $ to build a public profile. Many founders/researchers who contribute meaningfully to this society feel stuck. These applicants are some of the brightest minds.
I want to dispel certain accusations made about my EB-1 blog on X.
I wrote that to help people. To not gate-keep knowledge. It's not great to be punished for that. The primary reason I write online is to help.
I'll break down the claims and why they're patently false:

We need to shift the conversation from regulation 'of' AI to regulation 'for' AI.Countries should be asking what policy changes can be made to enable AI innovation for citizens, instead of attempting to throttle everything through regulation to avoid an imaginary doomsday scenario
Is there really such a thing as “global regulation?” AI doomers point to nuclear as an example.
But the world is anarchic at the state level. The reason nuclear appears to be regulated is a) MAD and b) Global American Empire, which is wanning.
So what do they expect exactly?

Is there an iPhone equivalent to Pixel's phone assist? I need a global opt-out from sales calls. Every day, I'm bombarded by sales reps pitching SAAS tools like bookkeeping and market intelligence. Even after saying no, they call back with the same pitch.
