Mike Leach has got friends in every town and village from here to the Sudan. He speaks a dozen languages and knows every local custom. He'll blend in, disappear and you'll never see him again. With any luck he's got the grail already.
If y’all get a chance, any prayers or whatever works for you that you can spare for my mom would be greatly appreciated. After a 10 yr battle with dementia and a couple of nasty falls this week, we’re looking at a matter of days at this point.
Thank you all so much for your kind words. I’ve been very lucky to work with amazing and wonderful people for 25 years. I’ll miss them, but I won’t miss the grind. I suck at goodbyes, so we’ll just go with a TTFN!
Somewhere in Texas, Nolan Ryan leans back in his chair and puts his boots up on his mahogany desk. He lights a cigar and takes a few puffs. A slight smile crosses his weathered features. The years spent covertly training his mighty snow monkey army have finally paid off.
Stars fire their coach, new Rangers stadium catches fire, Luka turns his ankle... shit, the Cowboys are gonna win tomorrow, aren't they? Jerry's offered up the rest of the Dallas sports world to his dark lord for a Super Bowl.
On July 11, 2002, a college student married a board ope. 18 years later, that college student is now a doctor and the board op is... well, let's not get into that.
Don’t think I posted this when we took it, but this was my last day working with both Norm and Donnie. Good times. Unplanned shirt choice.

By the way, Janice did her dissertation defense yesterday online via Zoom (I think). And... SHE PASSED! There are a couple of minor changes that need to be made before it’s “official”, but my mother’s dream of having a doctor in the family is finally coming true!
By the way, and I’m a bit disappointed I have to say this, I don’t mind if you want to dunk on me. Well, I accept it at least. But when it comes to stuff I post about my wife, please show a little GD courtesy and respect.
Best of luck to real friends

as well, this could be stiff competition.
I know this sort of twitter activism is new coming from me. I’ve usually tried to keep things light, and I still plan to. But I also plan to stay on this train, so if you have a problem with it, well, you’re the one following me. Not gonna debate basic human rights.
Just a life update: I have been accepted at Brite Divinity School at TCU for a Masters in Divinity and will begin attending classes in January! (Am I doing the thing right?
As a parting gift to the P1s, I have shown

how to use the harmonizer. I take no responsibility for what he does with this knowledge.
You’re welcome.
I love Norm and proud to have known and worked with him for so long. So glad he’s getting out on his own terms. Thanks for all the fish.

(and has been for years, it just happens to line up with Easter this year). Next time you think you don’t know a transgender person, guess what, you do! (And I’m betting I’m not the only one)
Happy 29th to the Ticket. Very proud to have been a part of so much insane yet somehow award-winning radio for 25 of those years. Even the golf I guess.
In case it needed to be said, I don't think anyone ever hated Garrett as a person. Average head coach that Jerry loved, but it was generally agreed he was a nice human.
Jason Garrett went over to Mike McCarthy after Dak Prescott's gruesome injury.
Until today, Dak's been the epitome of durable in 5 seasons under both Cowboys coaches. Started all 68 games since he was drafted.
Pro-life people getting bent out of shape about abortion when no one agrees on exactly when life begins. Meanwhile our “leaders” out here doing nothing about people who are actually definitively and most certainly alive getting definitely murdered in broad daylight.
Late to the show but happy 30th to
@dfwticket
. Damned lucky to have been a part of the magic slash insanity for 25 of those. There are some things about the biz I don’t miss, but the amazing talents I worked with there are not one of those things. Yes, even Fernando. PS F Golf
280 characters isn't enough. The HL was probably the first show I listened to on The Ticket & what made me want to be a part of that insanity. Our paths rarely crossed due to schedules, but I'm glad they did from time to time. Stay hard

my birthday brother!
Happy birthday to this incredibly good boi. Norwood is 15 today, and while he’s a lot slower and poops on the carpet a *lot* more than he used to, he’s still a good puppy dog.
For the first time as an open member of the community, HAPPY PRIDE MONTH Y’ALL! Be kind. Let people live and love. (Yes, and laugh.) We only get one trip on this crazy big blue marble we call Earth, make it the best you can for yourself and future passengers.

Bedtime for Bonzo here. Do something that makes you happy for a while. Tell the humans and animals who share your life you love them. And I love you all.
Goodnight, moon.
But please keep up the thoughts and prayers. Maybe this time they’ll work. Maybe this is the time you’ll stumble across the exact magic combination of words and thoughts to make things change.
I’m just so fucking tired of it all.

Today is a yuge day for Mrs. Jer as she has her proposal meeting for her dissertation this afternoon. So proud of her. One step closer to that PhD. If she ever figures out that she’s way out of my league, I’m boned.
For all those wondering, this is my son Nestor. We share no blood but he is my life. He came from Cuba (legally, of course) six years ago and lives with me in Florida.
I am so proud of him and raising him has been the best, most rewarding thing I’ve done in my life.
On this day in 1994, I was in college and had no idea what the Ticket was. When I came home that summer a friend of mine told me about the new sports station and I was hooked. 3 years later I got a job there and they haven't fired me yet. Thanks for listening, dirties!
Thanks to all you weird effs for coming out and seeing us at

this weekend. Always amazed at how many people show up and give a damn about what we do. It’s pretty neat.
I had my ears pierced years ago, but they were very uncomfortable when I was wearing headphones 6+ hours a day. Now that I’m not, I got them redone. One of my first purchases? This beauty that I’ve been obsessed with for years. My pagh is much stronger now.

Spent the day with Mom. She’s hanging on for now but even on ALL THE MEDS it’s rough. We (I) did a lot of singing and praying. We listened to Elvis and Neil Diamond and when “America” started her face lit up and she clearly said “Love him”.
Friedo went to our same high school (we graduated in 89, him in 87)... helped us get on at the Ticket around 2001... helped us get on ESPN around 2009... and helped us with our non compete podcast in 2019. Friends the whole way. We owe him so much. Praying he pulls out of this.
Dear sweet clean P1s,
Thanks for hanging in there with us through a weird-ass year. It's been a roller-coaster ride and you haven't punched out yet. I love each and every one of you in a purely non-sexual way.
