Hi there, this is real Norm. I am so overwhelmed by the love and prayers and support while I have been sick. I want to thank everyone deeply for all of the wonderful words and emails that you have sent to me.
Mary and I are simply devastated by the sudden death of my 30-year-plus wonderful friend Mark Friedman. I'd talked to Friedo 4-5 times last week alone. He was the editor and digital producer for our new podcast "Just Wondering...with Norm Hitzges."
Hi, Norm here...My new podcast, "Just Wondering..." debuts September 4th and airs 5 days a week. Sports, lifestyle, travel (with Mary), philosophy, stories, whatever. More coming soon…
Normally I make sure to respond to all emails, but this time, it isn’t possible. I have over 700 emails to reply to right now. Thank you all again so much. -Norm
Hi, this is Norm. No, really, this IS Norm. Until now Mike Sirois has handled this account. But now I'll be adding messages also. Of the things I've missed most during "corona"

would be travel. So, each day I'll try to take you to places Mary and I have been and photographed.
During my retirement announcement, I dropped the news that I would be starting my own podcast soon. I’m so excited to tell you all that I’ve been hard at work with a fantastic team on making this happen! (1/3)
My wife

this weekend! Her exhibit of 23 pictures will remain up through the month of May. The Goodrich Gallery at Harwood and Ross. Go see them!
Mary and I were shocked and devastated by Mark Friedman's unexpected passing on Sunday evening. He was a colleague for 30+ years, the producer of my show and podcast, and a very beloved friend.
In today's podcast, I share my thoughts on his passing.
Thank you all again for the good wishes. Here's something I'd like to share with you all.
Before they left to go to DC, I filmed this interview with my daughter-in-law Nurtaç all about my life and experiences.
Mary and I have been using OPA Greek Seasonings in cooking for years (Uh, well, Mary has!). We just got our latest shipment of OPA from our friends Deanna and Dean Xeros. A wonderful product!

My podcast will be called "Just Wondering... with Norm Hitzges" and it will explore a wide range of topics from (of course) sports, but also philosophy, current events, interviews, traveling and even the occasional rant or two. It will be 5 days a week starting on Sept 4 (2/3)
When Mary and I married in 2011 Mark was one of my groomsmen. We thought we'd lost Friedo back 2-3 years ago when severe health problems kept him in the hospital for five months. FIVE months! But he fought through them, endured endless rehabs and came back strong...and happy.
Hey pals. I'm out getting my titanium monkey hip, but my good good friends

Friedo and I began working together in the mid-90's. He produced my talk shows for more than a decade. But our relationship was far deeper than producer-talk show host. When I moved from KLIF to The Ticket I insisted that I wouldn't make the move without Friedo coming with me.
Lets go to the Galapagos Islands! About 70 islands (very few inhabited) sit about 600 miles west of Ecuador. The animals, like this giant frigate bird, do not fear humans. We were standing about 25 feet from this male who was inflating his gular sac to attract females (Classy!)
No show today since it’s Sunday and Mary and I are heading back from New York. But you can check me out on

This Castle Sinclair Girnigoe was built in the late 1400's but has been vacant since 1680 when warring factions of the families destroyed most of it. Now, it just sits there and you can walk right up to it and thru it.
Good Morning! It's

As we're mostly shut-in these days, life tends to offer fewer wonderful surprises. But on Monday, Orchard in the Office (they deliver fantastic fruit baskets to The Ticket every week) dropped off this at the house. All fresh! Thank you Chris Buchanan!
In prep for tomorrow’s big launch, I’ve let loose my inner Shakespeare and wrote a poem about my new podcast, Just Wondering.
Check out Just Wondering anywhere you get your podcasts! Episodes five days a week starting tomorrow, Sept 4th.
It is almost impossible to NOT laugh when you see herds of "hairy coo" (hairy cows) that dot the roadways of Scotland. This one was relaxing by the side of the highway between Thurso and Durness. Very docile. Seem to like getting their picture taken.
Hello lads! My dear Mary and I will be doing our Travel Show tonight from 7 till 9 so I need all you good lads to send me and my sweet Mer some travel questions for us to read on the show from Twitter which is the platform we will be reading from on the show! RUFF!

Gooood morning....and a HAPPY Normathon morning! Please send questions all day long. We've got 3 or 4 birdhouses today so we'll need a bunch from you. Thanks for doing your part to help.
The first stop while driving the "North Coast 500" around the top of Scotland is the lovely west coast city of Portree (population 4500). This is the capital city of the Isle of Skye near sunset.
Galapagos marine iguana are a unique species given their ability to exist on land or sea. Their size and color varies greatly from island to island dependent on what food's available. In the water they can dive to a depth of almost 100 feet and can stay under for nearly an hour!
We launched The Just Wondering Podcast...with Norm Hitzges this week and we're off to a great start. Thank you so much for your support. Here's an update
