It's no exaggeration to say that switching from React to Rails turned my developer career around. As a React dev I would scramble for like 4 months to put together a shitty broken SPA. I'd get paid $8k for the trouble, less than minimum wage. I hated it, wanted to quit

I guess this is a good time to mention that I use SQLite on prod for all my small projects. It costs $0/month vs. ~$15/month PER APP for managed postgres Lets me keep my projects alive indefinitely without even thinking about cost.

@levelsio Maybe it sounds silly but when I moved from $30/month heroku deployment to just adding an app for $0 on my VPS (thank you sqlite) it made me so muhc more comfortable just throwing up a new project without worrying if it would be worth it

@stephenbalaban I find that ChatGPT often spits out code that is either just straight up buggy, or is "correct" but contains extraneous stuff that isn't necessary. As usual, a real programmer (you) still needs to vet the results.

@noahflk I suppose stimulus would work pretty well yeah? just render the dialog hidden with the page load, and then reveal it with Stimulus. I guess the trick is then just updating the pre-populated dates as the user changes what week/day they're looking at?

@nimblegeek It's clear to me that a fully proficient neovim user is going to be substantially more productive than a vscode user. But also clear that it takes a while to get there! I'm up for the challenge, though. You get neovim integration with git via lazygit. Integrated in lazyvim.
