Once or twice a year, David Taras would ask me to speak to one of his classes. He'd say, "as a reward I'll buy you a scrumptious lunch in the cafeteria". We'd catch up on projects, family, travel, and gossip. I will miss those lunches, and his kindness and encouragement.
It is with deep sadness that I relay the news of the passing of David Taras. A great colleague and dear friend. While we knew each other when he was at UofC, it was only when he crossed the river to MRU that we began actively collaborating.
