From ABmunis' statement on province's new regulations for upcoming local government elections: "Albertans have repeatedly said they want less money, not more, in local politics. They have also said they do not want political parties in local elections. These regulations give more money to political parties and their candidates". Read more:

Wow! We are still reminiscing about how great our 2024 Convention & Trade Show was. The event was filled with powerful political speeches addressing the province's most critical issues, information-packed sessions, nonstop networking and tons of laughter. Our members had their voices heard, guiding us on the top advocacy priorities for their municipalities and the residents they represent. A massive thank you to the great vendors, the City of Red Deer for making our members feel at home, and our fabulous members who make each event special. And of course, a huge thank you to our ABmunis team for pulling off such an incredible event! Here’s to many more memorable moments together! #ABmunis

Our members had the chance to attend personally selected information sessions. These sessions give municipal leaders the chance to ask questions in real-time, gain in-depth knowledge about specific topics, remain informed about policy changes, and exchange experiences and ideas with fellow members Each year, we hear from participants that these sessions are an invaluable resource. Thank you to our panelists and speakers for sharing their knowledge. #ABmunis

Municipalities are the order of government closest to the people. That is why partnering with the provincial government on crucial issues is vital to creating thriving communities. We extend our appreciation to Premier Danielle Smith and Alberta NDP Leader Naheed Nenshi for their speeches and thank the 14 Provincial Ministers for engaging in the Q&A sessions. #ABmunis @YourAlberta @ABDanielleSmith @nenshi

@YourAlberta is proposing significant changes to the way in which automated traffic enforcement is conducted in municipalities. The Government of Alberta has expressed concern that photo radar is being used by municipalities to generate revenue instead of improving traffic safety. Interestingly, the provincial government increased its share of all traffic fines collected under the Traffic Safety Act from 26.7% to 40%, resulting in an additional $37 million annually in provincial revenue. ABmunis members are encouraged to contact their local MLA and Transportation and Economic Corridors Minister @DevinDVote to share their thoughts on these proposed changes. Learn more here: #ABmunis
