Gained 3,000 new friends so wanted to write a thread introducing myself :)
Short Version:
My name is Philip, I live in NYC, like to throw dinner parties, and I run media for the Series A+ Startup
@Rupa_Health
I grew up with a single mom, went to Michigan, got my Master's at
Worked with a guy at Microsoft who was a 10x engineer
He reported directly to the CTO of our org
His only job was to figure out insanely hard problems
I watched this in real time
CTO gave him a problem, he downloaded the text book on Android to his kindle, read it every day
To clarify when he was working it was literally 18 hour days and he’d sleep at the office
It was insane to watch
I was the first PM on a brand new team building an OS and App Store for automotive manufacturers and he was building the infrastructure for it
I've hosted 20+ dinner parties this year with 12+ people at each one
Here are 10 things I've learned
1. Assigning seats has ALWAYS lead to people having more fun
2.People from different backgrounds is more fun than say all tech people
3. Unstructured discussions are more
Spent the past 6 months exclusively reading spirituality and philosophy books
Over 2,000+ years the TWO things that every ancient philosopher, text, and culture seem to say is
1. Follow Your Gut
2. The Only Thing That Matters Is Relationships
@DataSciNews
So that’s basically what I’m saying 😂
I was like you did what?!?!? Is this not on stack overflow?
Oh no one’s done this before… well I’ll talk to you tomorrow!
Daniel… did you sleep here last night? 😂
If you’re in NYC - I started hosting 12 person dinner parties and want more new people so please DM me if you want to come to one
I usually make them really diverse to force people out of their normal social bubbles
Comedians, actors, tech, finance, government, etc.

Here are 3 ways to earn crypto for free:

It took me until this year to realize how important the design of your every day environment is
In college I had a $300 a month apartment with 0 natural sunlight
That sucked so hard
In Seattle no one has sun light
But now in NYC we have more natural sunlight than outside
Being around startup founders allows you to be able to constantly see 6 months into the future
Didn't realize this until my HBS friends started sending me things I saw months ago
@owenraisch
This dude probably made $500k-$1M a year and only a big tech company can offer them the deeply technical problems they like working on
Also they get taken care of like sugar babies
I once ended a date in 10 minutes for a bunch of reasons
5 months later that girl now works at the front desk of my gym and scans my pass every day
She 100% remembers me
@almmaasoglu
Was over 3 years ago now and I’ve lost all my knowledge of operating systems
But I think it was like getting android to run in a container on a Linux kernel or something along those lines
It was an overtly complex technical problem cause we had to justify it running on azure
Rupa Health is hiring for Engineering and Product
I gave up a $50,000 a month agency to work here
This is why I joined and you should too

A lot of people are speaking badly about
@bryan_johnson
for trying to reverse his age
But the guy is clearly just driven by the mission
I don't think I've ever seen someone to mission driven to accomplish something
He's clearly doing it for others, not himself
For my ambitious friends under 30 that now make more money than your parents this is for you
It’s okay to move to a more expensive city and do things to treat yourself
If you’re smart and ambitious your income is going to rise year over year

No matter how much people shit on Microsoft they are clearly a $1T dollar company with more than 100,000 employees that are carried by probably less than 2,500 😂
Referral programs are the
#1
passive marketing channel.
Robinhood, Uber, and Evernote all BLEW up from referral programs.
I spent 6 months learning about word-of-mouth marketing and referral programs.
Here are my top learnings for building out a stellar referral program.
I’ve throw 20+ events in my apartment with up to 40 people at once at this point
EVERY SINGLE TIME I experience crippling social anxiety that no one will show up
The way that I got rid of this feeling is by setting pegs for the event
Ex) As long as these 4 people show up I’ll
4/ A collar is like a load balancer because it offers a hedging strategy on your money
You pay a tiny fee, like insurance, to avoid the worst-case, losing everything
Collars will be easier to construct and offer in Web3
I've hosted 20+ Dinners in NYC and 10+ parties
This is 10 things I've learned doing them
1. One person can kill the entire vibe of a 15 person or less gathering
2. The
#1
thing you can do as a host to make sure everyone has a great time is keeping introducing people that don't
A friend of mine makes $25k per month on Fiverr...
He sells his gig for $150/gig then has a guy in SE Asia do it for $10 an hour...
How are you now making money online?
2/ HackingPM covers everything from what classes to take in college to how to negotiate your PM offer - just go to to find the course on YouTube - If you're interested in learning more about product, tech, and startups please drop a follow :)
I'm 27, have had 3+ different careers, and worked with 10+ different companies
This is what I wish I did when I started
I went from being a Product Manager at Microsoft -> Startup Founder -> Growth Consultant -> Marketing Agency Owner -> Head of Media
Working at Rupa Health is
I think
@NEARProtocol
is underrated.
Compared to Ethereum:
1. Lower Fees
2. Faster Transactions
3. 10x better UI

Target Customers: B2B Tech Companies that are at least Series A
Offer: Turn Blog Posts into Weekly YouTube Videos
Price: $5,000 per month for 1 video per week
Process:
1. Turn their blog posts into scripts using
@raechellambert
Transactional people
Look for people who are kind, curious, and authentic
I do not care what your accolades are
Never just try to bring impressive people together - that was the worst dinner I ever hosted 😂
Companies charging $2,000+ per month for an overseas virtual assistant are ripping you off
This is the only twitter post you will ever need for outsourcing overseas
Any US company doing it for you is probably marking you up 2x
Step 1: Decide what you are looking for
I think
If you're hiring for growth just ask someone
What is the most creative thing you've done to sell something
If they don't have a good story don't hire them
Everything else can be taught by reading 3 books
Argued with someone recently about the difference between niceness and kindness
Kindness is heartfelt and actually caring for others while niceness is just good manners
Don’t be nice, be kind
I grew a content marketing agency to $50k MRR in 4 months
Here are 10 things I learned:
1. Most people I met running agencies didn't particularly enjoy it but saw it as the best way to make $$$$
2. $50k seems to be the ceiling of growing with only contractors - I had 16 at the
@macklemehak
lol makes sense - I saw one today for $3,500 and the pictures were 2/10 - my only thought was the audacity for knowing you're still going to lease this place
In college I got rejected by an accelerator and I called

angry and cursing
Tara told me, “Philip it isn’t worth it you should go back to them and see if they’ll make an exception”

A few days ago, a longtime partner tried to screw us over pretty badly.

I wanted to show up at their office and scream at them.
But I responded with a nice note saying we’re here if they change their
For the past 12 months around 4-6pm I start to lose focus and can't work that much anymore
I've tried supplements, working out, and the sauna to be able to keep working

Blending up 16 ounces of watermelon into Juice is by far the best solution I've found
We've built a team of ~10 doctors and trained them to make world class YouTube videos for us
In 6 months we will be so far ahead of every health company when it comes to content it'll be impossible to catch up
We've been posting videos on YouTube consistently for 2 years with basically no results.
OUT OF NOWHERE the algorithm finally decided it was time to reward us.

thing I’ve thought about this year is relationships
One thing I’ve learned to delineate between is real friends and business friends
The problem with making work and career your life is that you surround yourself with relationships that are inherently transactional

I've had a facial twitch for over a month
It got so bad one day I didn't want to leave the house

How group dynamics change based on the number of people in a social setting is WILD
People will behave differently in groups of 2, 3, 6, 12, and so on
From hosting 20+ dinners what I have found is that...
