@LatashaLampkin Principals are often tasked with putting out fires, but it's so vital to focus on PLCs & instruction! I always think about the Eisenhower Matrix: we have to find ways to prioritize the things that are IMPORTANT but not necessarily URGENT.

Hey Instructional leaders: Kim, Sun, and Youngs (2019) found a link between high principal leadership ratings & “perceptions of legitimacy in evaluation.” TL;DR? Best way to support teachers is with honest observation feedback, not perfect scores. #GSUEdLead

@mrelyea2gsu @3rdwithUnger A reminder for leaders that the degree of "harshness" is not just a matter of personality, preference, age (ever hear a leader described as "old school?")- there are best practices for school behavior management & policies just like there are for classroom mgmt & instruction.

@techatgalloway When we (rightly) center our leadership conversations around learning, we can overlook that data is more thatn test scores and grades; principals' positive impact on attendance and discipline can be profound and lead to a better community for teachers & students.

Grissom, Egalyte, & Lindsay (2021) remind us that effective principals are invaluable in "efforts to recruit, develop, support, and retain a talented teaching staff" - especially important in a time when so many Ts are burning out and leaving the field. #gsuEdLead
