🙄 I can’t with people. There are a lot of D3 athletes and programs that would mop the floor with D1 competition.
People need to be better!! D3 athletes deserve the same love and respect as any other collegiate athlete, including the right to celebrate their commitment!

It’s no different than a participation trophy. The fact is, D3 are lesser athletes than D1. If that hurts their feelings they need to get over it. D1 are generally elite athletes. D3 didn’t make it

RECRUITS: don’t be that person that sends an impersonal email. In no part of this text does it address me by name, the school by name, our mascot, or list small details that let me know you’ve done your research. You may be a hard worker, but this does not sit well with coaches.

“We don’t usually bring them unless it’s a showcase.” Didn’t even ask for my contact info to send one later on.
You never know when a coach will pop up, be prepared when that time comes!

THIS. It needs to be mandated that every athletics department has a sport psychologist & mental health counselor on staff specifically for athletes.
Coaches are not equipped to take on the burdens of an entire team and help them navigate the recovery. We NEED change
It’s more than telling our athletes it’s okay to not be okay. While that’s a huge part of it, it’s also equipping them with the skills to ask those who are struggling difficult questions and get them to the people who can help. Gatekeeper training is vital right now.

I know we have a shortage in softball but when an umpire has an inconsistent zone, doesn’t respond to my questions, doesn’t know basic rules of the game (or struggles in the moment of the game) and overall isn’t confident in calls they make, it’s infuriating.
