we NEED better headways here in Ottawa. that’s the truth. OC has “rapid express services” but they run every 30 minutes. that’s absurd. those aren’t express services. that’s worse than a local bus in almost anywhere outside of North America 2/

New data shows that very few cyclists and pedestrians are using Queen Elizabeth Driveway when it's closed to cars. Watch this video as a great example. When I recorded it yesterday afternoon, not a single pedestrian or cyclist passed me for the entire two and a half minutes.

it doesn’t matter if that’s an underground train, a streetcar/tram-only lanes or bus lanes with slip lanes (maybe???). ANYTHING. TD place is the second largest stadium in Ottawa and needs better transit connections than buses that get stuck in traffic all day long. 7/

I don’t get where this “buses are empty” narrative is coming from. I take rapid buses from either Tunneys or Hurdman every single day and they’re all full at rush-hour. same with routes near Tunneys. the only empty buses are the Connexxion buses that only serve the suburbs (27X)

I understand accessibility concerns over increasing stop distances but to be quite frank: if people are unable to travel less than 250 extra meters to their stop, they’re unlikely to be able to take the TTC in the first place
The average stop distance of Toronto's streetcar in downtown is almost comically low.
