Club de Regatas Vasco da Gama is formed in Rio de Janeiro, adding football in 1915
In the 1920s, its diverse team faced a fight for acceptance by the establishment clubs
What happened next shaped Brazilian football forever…
So, Bohemians had apparently gone 100+ games without a goalless draw…🤦🏻♂️
Great experience, anyway. What fans, what a ground, those floodlights 😍, all that history - definitely my club in Ireland 🖤❤️

🇮🇹 Juve Stabia - Vesuvius 🌋

There must be loads - especially in/around the Alpes, Pyrinees, Highlands etc. Not just ranges, but specific mountains 🤔
Linfield are the world’s most successful domestic side with a record 56 titles (including 25 doubles)
Twice the club has won seven trophies in a single season
It also owns Windsor Park (built 1905), home of the Northern Ireland national stadium since 1910
Spanish clubs without a geographical name 🇪🇸
RCD Espanyol ('Spanish' - Barcelona)
Osasuna ('Health' in Basque - Pamplona)
Real Sociedad ('Royal Society' - San Sebastian)
Real Betis ('Betis' = Roman name for the Guadalquivir river - Seville)

Just as it's 'Ukraine' not 'The Ukraine', there are some other things to address in football nomenclature:
✅ Athletic Club, not Athletic Bilbao
✅ Sporting Clube de Portugal, not Sporting Lisbon
Also, no need for the 'Glasgow' prefix on Rangers and Celtic.
What else?
