@kobehighlight
I can’t believe people are so soft that they think this was hating on Kobe. This was MJ paying the ultimate respect. He saw a killer in him which is why he took him under his wing and gave Kobe access.
@HiNoteee
He doesn’t have the most records, he doesn’t have every accolade (no DPOTY), and another dude has more rings, more FMVPs, more MVPs, has otherworldly statistics and has won every accolades and did it in much less time. Is this so difficult to understand?
My club is not in the AL. It’s in the NPL which has no current access or route to the AL so there’s no reason for me to go to it or support it until that changes
I hope the NST doesn’t devolve into the same insecurities that plague the AL. Sustainability should be the most important factor. If 2000 rock up and it’s sustainable that’s far more important than 10,000 but losing money hand over fist. We need to stop worrying about aesthetics
@haiti4eva
@TheRealJHair
You could see what it meant to Luc to hear those words from Michael. The fact MJ agreed to sit down for Luc’s doco when he rarely ever does that shows that yes he pushed them hard but he ultimately cared about and respected them. It’d have hurt him what Pip and Horace have said
Nothing about this whole Sam Kerr incident surprises. Not surprised she mouthed off, not surprised it’s been overblown, not surprised some people were quick to condemn her, not surprised some quick to defend her. And won’t be surprised by the hypocrisy from everyone going forward

The fact that you think LeBron has been slandered in the media just shows what a pathetic stanbase you guys are and the size of your victimhood. Softest generation ever
I know there’s a certain feeling of karma involved from non-AL fans towards AL fans and their current problems being treated like rabid animals because for years that’s how they’ve treated the traditional ethnic clubs. But come on ⚽️ has always been treated harshly and unfairly.

“Dropped 40 points on him”
Rex hit only 4 shots on Jordan. Ron Harper started on him, Kerr switched, Jordan switched and Scottie. It wasn’t like he scored all those point on Jordan.
@ApexJones22
@LoveTheOrange1
I have a question Apex. Was Toni Kukoc a new recruit that year? Because according to the Brongregation, it was the same exact team minus MJ. He must’ve been some player to be entrusted with so many of the last shots as a “rookie”
The stuff you see after things like the Tarneit FC announcement is everything wrong with the ⚽️ in 🇦🇺 . It’s not what was promised, it’s not for football only, it’s not owned by them, wasn’t built by them yet all the sychophantic plaudits towards them for it is pure fantasy land
@nbarealist23
@OKCThumper
You’re expecting too much from these guys. They just aren’t. Jordan averages more points, more offensive rebounds, more steals, more blocks, fewer turnovers, shoots a higher FG% outside of 3 ft.
And he’s the only person not named Magic to average over 10 asts in NBA Finals

It’s like do people think that every college freshman science student is a better scientist than Newton because they’d have more scientific information than him? You have to judge people with what they did with what they had in their era.
First I’d drop this attitude that you need ethnic connections to any club to be a part of it. It’s a myth spread by xenophobes. Just choose whichever club is closest to you, or has the nicest kit, the best vibe or whatever reason you want.
This is beautiful ❤️ Especially when we still see bigotry exists against traditional clubs founded by immigrants. Football and it’s clubs must be true to themselves and not try to accomodate those uncomfortable with ethnicity and cultural diversity.

@tpignata9
You don’t have to support it Tony but coming out with a public statement undermining it is unhelpful and sends a bad message. Just read the room and the angry responses it has received.
FWIW every local club should push for whatever funding they can get from anywhere they can.
Somehow a lot of people have been convinced that in Australia we shouldn’t follow the same modus operandi which made football the biggest sport in the world.
Apparently “wog” isn’t a racist term anymore 🤦♂️ Just because the people who it was targeted against use it themselves now does not mean it’s not racist. People have often adopted a slur to disarm it as a weapon against them. It is not a green light to go throwing it around
Come on
@tpignata9
you are better than this mate. There’s no reason you can’t support South Hobart’s bid and whatever else you want to do with the AL. The ultimate goal is to have a completely connected football pyramid after all with every club given the opportunity to rise up

There are probably more NPL games in a weekend than there are AL games in a season yet there are certain fans who want to take the odd bad behaviour to discredit a formation of an NST. Keep in mind that neither of those clubs are amongst the foundation clubs of the NST but to
I don’t go after people for supporting an AL team (anymore). I even like many fans of AL teams but the ones who try and tell me and others we don’t support ⚽️ in Australia if we don’t follow the AL can do one. I have an Australian club that I support, I don’t need another one

You know nothing about basketball and it’s history. They used to criticise Wilt Chamberlain for not winning. Your idol is not targeted at all but just held to the same standards that all the past stars have been.
With all due respect Richard, that sounds like a “you” problem. I think football has waited long enough for you to get your shit together. Don’t forget these clubs have been around a lot longer than CCM and deserve just as much of a chance as you do.
@ApexJones22
@UntouchableBats
@HassanC2244
The thing is these guys get cooked daily. However, they have zero shame and zero self-pride so constantly getting owned for posting ill-informed nonsense has no affect so the daily cycle continues.
I can’t believe there are people who still buy the Tarneit FC BS. Is it wishful thinking? Or delusion? They don’t own that training facility. They didn’t build or fund it in any capacity. They haven’t built or funded anything that they promised to. They lied to get a licence.
@whateverbs99
It’s funny I was reading the comments on ESPN on whether Mahomes was in the GOAT conversation. Saw little talk about plumbers of the past or much shitting on those in the debate. Very different from NBA discourse
@LoveTheOrange1
I find it funny when a stan base uses the 1-9 without Pippen thing while ignoring Jordan’s own performances in those series and strength of opponents. Yet when their guy loses its “look at his stats” “he had no help” “the other team were too strong”
I’m sorry but if you think the NSL failed because of “effniks” you’re a football illiterate. You’ve just bought into the lazy narrative. Those running football and the AL are learning the hard way it was never as easy as just get rid of ethnicity
@NBAStatGuy_
Ah is that the same guy who the Blazers tried that in the 92 Finals who then set an NBA record for 3s in a half that stood for two decades? That guy?
Let’s explore WHY the costs of playing football at lower levels are so high. Start at a system designed to protect those at the top of the sport which inhibits the normal global practices used for lower tiers to increase revenue, value and incentivise growth.
@Maievofblades
Where am I crying about the AL? It seems you lot are crying about why most football fans don’t support it. I’m just telling you I have a club already they just happen to not be in the AL
Hint: you don’t know what you’re talking about
@OKCThumper
If you are going to claim LeBron can guard all 5 positions then you have to say MJ can too. Now in reality neither can effectively guard Cs, MJ would struggle against big PFs, and LeBron struggles with PGs. But MJ and LBJ have spent time guarding all 5.
@Lou_Sticca
@Socceroos
If spending millions was the measuring stick for development then China should’ve won this tournament.
The fact is we are falling behind not due to money but we totalled betrayed the football culture which saw us developing year after year in favour of chasing mainstream favour
@ApexJones22
But Apex that’s why they go after his competition and try to elevate Bron’s. They know they can’t go after Jordan directly because statistically, eye test and accolades wise he blows Bron away.
What exactly does the Feds, FA, PFA, APL want from the existing lower tier clubs? To just continue doing the heavy lifting with no reward? No acknowledgement of how vital they are in the pathways for players and coaches? You always see Player X is a “SFC product” but never where
@LoveTheOrange1
@IsiahThomas
Isiah backing Rodman’s comments about Bird, his handling of Magic getting HIV and not shaking MJ’s hand all came back to haunt him. No one went into bat for IT for decades either and remember he and Malone and he and Magic had to do those sit downs for reconciliation
With the NSL and AL combined we have around 5 decades of trying to run the game to suit “the Australian way”. How about we give the global standard, which has worked in every type of country, of every size, population and economic strength, a try?
Organic growth from ground up
I’m all for ⚽️ making some $, but tbh I don’t like these games. Glorified kickabouts (3 days after the EPL finishes), that do more to encourage fans to follow overseas clubs rather than our own. If we must have them, why not Victory/AL All Stars v Spurs?
Instead of seeing it as an opp to get one back on those who demonised our clubs, back them and show a united front against the way our sport is treated here. You don’t have to watch or attend AL games or even speak nicely about it but at least acknowledge the problem.
@MurriOGee
@NickGalatas
Because it’s the traditional name of the club is Sydney Croatia. It’s the same as why South Melbourne fans chanted “Hellas” but Sydney Olympic fans chanted “Olympic”. It’s their names.
Wait so South Hobart wanted to create a new club that was a member-based community club that united all of Tassie but FT said “nah we want the government to help fund a franchise”? 🤦♂️

@Gatty54
@102megan
This is such a cop out Gatty. The “sport” will be fine. Those boycotting can go to any number of local games during the boycott. But those running the game have consistently shown not to do anything without their hands being forced.
Well here we are again months after a huge football “moment” that was going to change the face of the sport as we know it in 🇦🇺. And surprise surprise nothing has changed. Nothing will change because we think “moments” will save us or marquees. Nothing will help the sport while
@neal_symons
I think a lot of clubs are doing a wait and see which is smart and shows these clubs have generations of experience running as a football club and know what they’re capable of more than anyone and they’d never do something to jeopardise their future.
@JamdH13495
@itsrushin
@HardenUTD
Mate they are the ultimate straw clutchers. MJ held an NBA Finals record for 3s made in a half for two decades yet a 3 point contest which he joined last minute because pulled out is what they hang on to.
The thing is. Without fans there is no professional sport. If no one is watching or attending, professional sport ceases to exist so yes the people who are drawing in all the revenue which keeps professional sport going are kinda entitled to think they deserve better.
The more I watch this I can kind of see why Popa was annoyed. Who is the journalist to undermine his subs? He could’ve just asked “what was behind Arzani’s subbing off?” But he prefaced it by saying he was playing really well and therefore insinuating it was a bad decision.
The Melbourne Rebels’ women’s and men’s professional rugby club are set to share the Wyndham Regional Football Facility in Tarneit with the Western United A-League Teams, as part of a consortium rescue plan for the rugby side. [

A former pro footballer states something that most football people worldwide agree upon that “pro/rel improves all levels of the game by incentivising success and penalising failure” but because he aims it at the AL, their fans get sensitive and attack the guy personally 🤦♂️

It’s merely highlighting how Jordan could kill a team.
It blows my mind how wilfully ignorant you basketball haters are.
If you were really committed to football’s growth and not just your own, you’d join with the NST and NPL to connect the football pyramid and use the pro/rel mechanism which is the single greatest tool for building the sport from the ground up.

the foundations and system are fundamentally flawed. While we have more people trying to fit a square peg into a round hole rather than admit that football is a community based sport not a privately funded venture. It has to be grown from the ground up not the other way around.
I love how this guy says it’s “THE reason” NSL ended up falling apart. The lengths these people will go to to justify their racism is incredible. At best it shows a complete lack of understanding of the history of the sport.
