Did you feel that? Vancouver’s most common foe is the relentless raindrop. Inspired by classic Japanese anime storytelling and our beautiful climate, our very own Manuel Neto took a personal character study and transformed it into this fun homage. Staying dry never felt so fun.

What does a fully 3D Ordinary Folk project look and feel like? We had no idea either, so we started with two shapes. Then mashed our 2d keyframes and transitions with Josh Edward’s masterful 3D tactile materials and lighting. Check it out! 🟠🟩

One of the big technical challenges on our latest piece was animating what we called the “blessing swirls”, a collection of brightly coloured paint strokes intended to convey God’s blessing. We’re really excited at how this turned out!

The story of creation starts with the words, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” Collaborating closely with the incredibly talented Allen Laseter of Lasso, we aimed to make a visual poem of this beautiful and most ancient of stories.
